The teams are beginning to announce their squads for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. All the teams need to finish picking their 15 players by September 28. If they want to make any changes after that date, they need permission from the ICC. So far, England, Australia and India have finalized their squad for the World Cup. Analysis of India Men's ODI Squad in ICC World Cup 2023

Previously, the BCCI selection committee announced the 15-member World Cup squad immediately after the India-Pakistan Asia Cup group stage match on Saturday. Indian team chief selector Ajit Agarkar went to Sri Lanka to hold final talks about the team selection. He sat in a meeting with captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid after the India-Pakistan match in Kandy on Saturday. Now, India confirmed a 15-player squad for their home World Cup campaign.

Sanju Samson, who was part of the squad for the West Indies series that ended this month, was not selected for the World Cup. However, he is in the Asia Cup as a stand-by. Tilak Verma and Prasidh Krishna, who were in the 18-man squad for the Asia Cup, were also left out of the World Cup squad.

As anticipated, Rohit Sharma has been appointed as the captain to lead India in the upcoming World Cup. In addition, the in-form wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has earned his place in the World Cup squad. Apparently, Sanju is left out due to Ishan Kishan’s recent aggressive performance. The selection committee has chosen this left-handed, aggressive batsman over Sanju.

India's batting line-up consists of Rohit, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. In the allrounder category are Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, and Mohammad Siraj, along with Kuldeep Yadav, will handle the bowling department.

Previously, KL Rahul has been ruled out of the first two matches of the Asia Cup due to not being fully recovered from injury. He will participate in the Asia Cup Super-Four round. However, his inclusion in the next Asia Cup matches is not confirmed yet, but it is certain that the wicketkeeper batsman will be in the World Cup squad. So, India will begin their World Cup 2023 journey with two wicket keepers.
