A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed actor Siddiqur Rahman on a seven-day remand in an attempted murder case. Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sanaullah passed the order when Abdus Salam, sub-inspector of Gulshan police station also the investigating officer of the case, produced him before the court with a ten-day remand prayer. Earlier on Tuesday, Siddique was assaulted and handed over to police by a group of agitated people. Actor Siddique was assaulted and forcibly taken to the police by a group of agitated individuals on Tuesday afternoon. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media platform Facebook. The footage shows Siddique, his clothes torn, being paraded through the streets before being handed over to police officers at Ramna Police Station. Sub-Inspector Jalal, the duty officer at Ramna Police Station, said, “A group of people brought him to us this afternoon. The video captures a group of youths physically dragging Siddique, who appeared to be in distress and was seen crying. Some individuals were seen striking him as he was being led to the station.
