Koko’s mother-in-law dies
SUF Mukarrema Reza, mother-in-law of late Arafat Rahman Koko, the younger son of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, died while undergoing treatment at a city hospital early Sunday. She was 71.
Family sources said she breathed her last at 3:45am while receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital, Dhaka.
Earlier, she had been admitted to the hospital with multiple health issues a week back.
Her daughter Syeda Sharmila Rahman Sithi, wife of Koko, arrived in Dhaka from London on March 30, the day before Eid after learning about her mother’s illness.
Following Koto’s death from cardiac arrest in Malaysia in 2015, Sithi has been living in London with their daughters Zahia Rahman and Zafia Rahman.
Former Minister Kamal Ibne Yusuf’s wife dies
Family sources said Mukarrema Reza’s Namaz-e-Janaza will be held after Asr prayers at the Old DOHS ground in Banani and then she will be laid to rest at Banani Graveyard.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter while her husband HM Hasan Reza, former engineer of the RAJUK, died in 2017.
In a condolence message, BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman prayed for the salvation of her departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.

Koko’s 7th death anniversary observed
The seventh death anniversary of Arafat Rahman Koko, the younger son of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and current chairperson Khaleda Zia, was observed on Monday.
BNP and its associate bodies observed the day with various programmes.
Dhaka north city unit BNP arranged a Qurankhawani and special prayer session on Koko’s grave premises at Banani graveyard in the morning.
Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies paid homage to Koko by placing wreaths at his grave.

BNP arranged a doa mahfil at its Nayapaltan central office at noon seeking the eternal peace of Koko’s departed soul.
Besides, Dhaka north city unit of BNP organised special doa mahfil at its 26 thana units and distributed cooked food among the destitute and orphans.
Another doa mahfil was held at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office at 5pm.
Different associate and professional bodies of BNP and its city and district units also observed the day through various programmes across the country.

On January 24, 2015, Koko died of cardiac arrest at the age of 45 at a rented house in Malaysia.
His body was brought back home on January 27 and buried at Banani Graveyard.

The seventh death anniversary of Arafat Rahman Koko, the younger son of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and current chairperson Khaleda Zia, will be observed on Monday.
BNP and its associate bodies have taken various programmes to mark the day.

Dhaka north city unit BNP will arrange a Qurankhawani and a session of special prayers on the premises of Koko’s grave, Banani at 8am, said a party press release on Sunday.
BNP will arrange a doa mahfil at its Nayapaltan central office at 12pm seeking eternal peace for Koko’s departed soul.
Besides, Dhaka north city unit of BNP will arrange special doa mahfil at its 26 thana units and distribute cooked food among the destitute and orphans.
Another doa mahfil will be held at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office at 5pm.
All the programmes will be observed maintaining health safety rules with the participation of a limited number of party leaders and activists, the release added.
