Film actor Ashraful Haque Don, an accused in popular actor Salman Shah murder case, has been arrested in the capital. Immigration police arrested Don from the immigration area of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday, said Airport Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamrul Hasan Talukder. Immigration police first detained him and later handed him over to a team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He was supposed to fly for Saudi Arabia around 6:50 am, the OC added. Salman Shah murder case is currently under investigation by the CID. The case was filed with Ramna Police Station on October 21 last year by Salman Shah’s maternal uncle Mohammad Alamgir. A total of 11 people including Salman Shah’s former wife Samira Haque and actor Don Haque were named as accused in the case. Earlier, a Dhaka court on December 7,2025  asked the authorities concerned to provide the investigation report on January 13 in the case filed over the death in 1996. Later, Judge of Additional Metropolitan Session Judge court-6 Jannatul Ibne Haque accepted the revision petition and asked to file a murder case. Following the order, the investigation resumed. Earlier, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) investigated the case and reported that Salman Shah died by suicide. However, his relatives and well-wishers did not accept the findings.
