Man dies falling off roof in Sylhet
A 42-year-old man died after falling off the rooftop of a building in Galimpur village of South Surma upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Anwarul Haque Alam, son of Askander Ali of the village.
Kamrul Hasan Talukder, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of South Surma Police Station of SMP, said Anwarul went to fix the pipe on the roof of the 2-storey building around 7pm.

Suddenly he slipped and fell from the rooftop of the building and was seriously injured, he added.
He was rushed to Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
As there is no complaint in this regard, the body will be handed over to the family without autopsy, added the OC.

Man dies at lover's home; one held
A 32-year-old man was found dead at a house at Matuail in Kadamtali of the capital on Friday morning, said police.
The deceased was identified as Ashiqul Haque Chowdhury, of Brahmanbaria. He used to work as a printing manager at ‘The Asian Age’ living in a mess in Tejturipara area, said Mahabubul Haque, sub-inspector (SI) of Kadamtali police station.

Police said Ashiqul had developed a love affair with a woman named Safia Begum, 28, few months ago. He went to Safia’s rented house in Matuail on Thursday night and fell sick there.
Safia alerted police when he died around 4am, said SI Mahabubul.
Police recovered the body around 9:30 am on Friday and detained Safia for interrogation, he added.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for an autopsy.
“The exact cause of death can be ascertained after getting the post-mortem report,” said the police official.

Man dies with fever, breathing complication in Patuakhali
A 65-year-old man suffering from fever, cough and breathing complication died at Patuakhali 250-bed Hospital on Tuesday morning.
Mohammad Abdul Matin, director of the hospital, said the man from Sehakathi village in Sadar upazila died shortly after he was hospitalised around 7:30am.
He had been suffering from fever, breathing complication and cough for the last few days, he added.
“We’ve collected his sample and sent it for coronavirus testing,” he added.
Patuakhali Civil Surgeon Mohammad Jahangir Alam said the house of the deceased and the area have put under lockdown.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 2,948 coronavirus cases and 101 deaths.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana on Monday said, "We’re in a great crisis”.
