Election 2024: List of winners from Khulna division
The Awami League won a comfortable two-thirds majority for a fourth election in a row on Sunday (January 07, 2024), in 299 out of 300 constituencies, and a strong showing by independent candidates as predicted.
Ruling party candidates won in 222 seats in Sunday’s election, while independent candidates — most of them belonging to AL — won 62 seats.

Names of Bangla Academy Literary award winners announced
Bangla Academy has announced the names of 15 individuals to be conferred with the 'Bangla Academy Literary Award-2022' for their contribution in different fields of Bangla literature.
The announcement was made through a press release signed by Bangla Academy deputy director Mohammad Akbar Hossain on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to hand over the awards officially during the inauguration of Amar Ekushey Book Fair-2023.

Bangla Academy Literary Award is given in different categories.
The awardees for Bangla Academy Literary Award 2022 are: Faruk Mahmud and Tarik Sujat in poetry, Taposh Majumder and Parvez Hossain in fiction writing, Masuduzzaman in essay and research, Alam Khorshed in translation, Milon Kanti Dey and Farid Ahmed Dulal in drama, Dhruba Esh in children's literature, Muhammad Shamsul Haque in Liberation War research, Subhash Singha Roy in research on Bangabandhu, Mokarom Hossain in science, fiction and environmental science, Ikhtiar Chowdhury in memoirs, travelogue and autobiography and Abdul Khaleq and Muhammad Abdul Jalil in folklore.
With the approval of the Bangla Academy Executive Council, 'Bangla Academy Literary Award 2022' was announced, the press release said.

Winners of Star Cineplex's Awesome Autumn get air tickets, movie vouchers
Five winners of Star Cineplex's "Awesome Autumn" campaign, selected through a raffle draw, have received air tickets and movie vouchers.
They watched movies at Star Cineplex from October 1-31.
First prize winner Nasreen Akhtar got Dhaka-Maldives-Dhaka air tickets for two; second prize winner Sirajul Islam Rana received Dhaka-Cox's Bazar-Dhaka air tickets for as many people.
Private carrier US Bangla Airlines provided the tickets. However, Star Cineplex will not arrange accommodation for the winners.
The other winners received movie vouchers from Star Cineplex.
The third prize winner got six movie vouchers, the fourth prize winner won four and the fifth prize winner received two movie vouchers.
Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Senior Manager (Media and Marketing) of Star Cineplex said: "The prizes were handed over to the winners at Star Cineplex Bashundhara City Shopping Mall branch in Panthapath in the capital on November 9."
Star Cineplex started its journey in 2004 at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in the capital's Panthapath.
Now it has branches at Shimanto Shimanto Shambhar in Dhanmondi, Sony Square in Mirpur, SKS Tower in Mohakhali, and Bangabandhu Military Museum in Bijoy Sarani in the capital. Two more branches are under construction outside Dhaka in Chittogram and Bogura.

Seeds for the Future winners visit Huawei Bangladesh headquarters
Winners of last year's Seeds for the Future programme, a CSR programme by Chinese telecom giant Huawei for aspiring science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and non-STEM students, recently visited the Huawei Bangladesh headquarters in Dhaka.
The winners were allowed to experience how different operations and services are done at the Huawei office. It was an eye-opening experience for them as they got the chance to learn from experts and develop insights on different ICT-related topics such as networking and cloud services.
In a special session during their visit, Yuying Karl, head of public affairs and communications department at Huawei Bangladesh, guided them in their further growth.
Yuying said: "We want to do everything for developing ICT talents in the country and give them proper exposure so that they can gather proper ICT knowledge. I believe the visit will help the champions in forming ideas about different technical and networking issues prevalent in the industry."

Last year, 15 students from different universities were selected as the winners from Bangladesh.
Launched in Bangladesh in 2014, Seeds for the Future has been nurturing ICT talents since its inception and become popular among academics as well as students.
