The weather department has predicted showers across Bangladesh in 24 hours commencing 9 am on Sunday.
“Light to moderate rains or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes are likely at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country,” the department said in its bulletin.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Besides, a low pressure area is likely to form over North Bay and adjoining area in next 72 hours, it added.
The Met office recorded the highest 69mm of rainfall in Feni of Chattogram division in the last 24 hours till 6am on Sunday.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was recorded in Rajshahi at 35.5 degrees while the minimum was 24.0 degrees in Feni of Chattogram.

Meanwhile, the axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
One of its associated troughs extends up to Northwest Bay, said the bulletin.

“Light to moderate rains or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lighting flashes are likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country,” the department said in its bulletin on Friday morning.

The Met office recorded the highest 69mm of rainfall in Rajshahi in the last 24 hours till 6am on Friday.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, both the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded in Rajshahi at 33.7 degrees and at 23.7 degrees, respectively.
Meanwhile, the well-marked low pressure area over northwestern Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas lies over Uttar Pradesh and adjoining area.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, the centre of the well-marked low, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the northern part of Bangladesh.

Day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.
The Met office recorded the highest 146mm of rainfall in Khulna in the last 24 hours till 6am on Thursday.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was recorded in Sylhet at 32.9 degrees while the minimum was 23.5 degrees in Rajahat of Rangpur.

Meanwhile, the well-marked low pressure area over the central part of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas has moved north-northwestwards and now lies over western Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas.

Brace for heavy showers in 24 hours!
Heavy to very heavy showers are likely to drench Bangladesh in the next 24 hours, the weather department has said.
“Under the influence of active monsoon, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Rangpur divisions,” the department said in its bulletin on Tuesday morning.
Besides, light to moderate rains or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning flashes are likely to occur at most places over these divisions.

Day temperature may fall slightly but night temperature is expected to remain nearly unchanged over the country in the next 24 hours.
Maximum rainfall in the country in the last 24 hours till 6 am Tuesday was recorded at 116 mm in Khepupara upazila of Barishal.

Meanwhile, the land depression over Chhattisgarh and adjoining area now lies over North Madhya Pradesh of India. It is likely to weaken gradually further.

The weather office recorded the highest 32 mm rainfall in Hatiya of Chattogram division in 24 hours till 6am on Sunday.
The highest temperature was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius in Sylhet, while the lowest temperature was recorded at 25.0 degrees in Hatiya, Rangamati, Kutubdia and Teknaf of Chattogram division.
Meanwhile, the Land Deep Depression over Jharkhand and adjoining area moved westwards, weakened into a land depression and now lies over Chhattisgarh and adjoining area of India. It is likely to weaken gradually further.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, the centre of the Land Depression, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends upto Northwest Bay.
Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over North Bay, as per the bulletin.
