Kushtia doctor dies of Covid-19
A doctor, who was infected with Covid-19, died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the capital early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Dr SM Nur Uddin Abu Al Baki Rumi, 48, assistant Prof of Kushtia Medical College (surgery department) and resident of Mujibnagar in Meherpur.
Dr Tapash Kumar Sarkar, resident medical officer of Kushtia General Hospital, said Dr Nur Uddin had tested positive for coronavirus on July 3. Later, he was taken to BSMMU that day as he has been suffering from diabetes.
Dr Nur breathed his last around 3am.

President Hamid’s younger brother Abdul Hye dies of Covid-19
Abdul Hye, the younger brother of President Abdul Hamid, died of Covid-19 at a hospital in the city early Friday. He was 67.
Abdul Hye, also a freedom fighter, breathed his last around 1:15am at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka, said President's Press Secretary M Joynal Abedin.
Hye, also assistant personal secretary to President Hamid, tested positive for coronavirus on July 2 and was then taken to the CMH.
He had been on ventilation support since July 12 following deterioration of his health condition.
Hye is survived by wife, a son, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Born in 1953 in Mithamain upazila of Kishoreganj district, Abdul Hye was a commander of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Shangshad, Mithamain.

Physician dies of Covid-19 in Benapole
A physician died from coronavirus at a hospital in the capital on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Dr Amjad Hossain, 60, deputy assistant medical officer (retd) and owner of Rajani Clinic in Benapole.
Jashore Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Shaheen said Dr Amjad Hossain died at the ICU of Regent Hospital in Dhaka’s Mirpur on Saturday night.
Dr Amjad, a resident of Benapole Bhaberber area, left behind wife, one son, a daughter and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
He was buried at his village home at Bhaberber on Sunday.
Forty-three physicians have died from coronavirus as of June 18, said sources at Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA)
