Legendary music director Alam Khan is no more
Legendary music director and composer Alam Khan passed away in Dhaka on Friday. He was 79.
The five-time National Film Award-winning music director breathed his last around 11.30am, his family said.
"Father has left for the eternal journey. Inna lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun! (Quranic command used by Muslims when someone dies)," hi son Arman wrote on social media.
Born on October 22 in 1943, Khan composed many popular songs which brought stardom to many actors and singers.

He was the composer of timeless songs like ’Jiboner Golpo Ache Baki Olpo’ , 'Ore Nil Doriya' and ‘Ami Rojonigondha Phuler Moto Shurbhi Biliye Jai’.
Among the popular songs he directed for Bangladeshi films are 'Hayre Manush Rangin Fanus', 'Dak Diyachen Dayal Amare', 'Ki Jadu Karila', 'TumiJekhane Ami Shekhane’, 'Sabai To Bhalobasa Chay', “Chader Shathe Ami Debona' and ‘Chumki Choleche Eka Pothe'.
Alam won his first National Film Award in 1972 for directing music in the film 'Bara Bhalo Lok Chil' by Mohiuddin.
He later received the award again for films 'Three Daughters' (1985), 'Surrender' (1987), 'Dinkal' (1992) and 'Ebadat' (2009).
He also won the Best Music Composer Award for the films Bagher Thaba (2005) and Ki Jadu Korila (2008).
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud expressed shock over demise of eminent actress Sharmili Ahmed and legendary musician Alam Khan on the same day. He prayed for peace of the departed souls and conveyed condolence to their families.

Alif Alauddin releases tribute song commemorating father Alauddin Ali on first death anniversary
Monday marks the first death anniversary of legendary music director Alauddin Ali, and commemorating the day, his daughter Alif Alauddin, also a popular singer, anchor and songwriter, has released a remastered version of a song on Monday which her father made years ago.The song, titled "Tumi Chole Gecho", was written and composed by Alauddin Ali and originally sung by his wife and Alif’s mother Salma Sultana on BTV in 1983. However, it had never been recorded or released on any album.Alif Alauddin posted the remastered tribute edition from her Facebook page and profile on Monday. The tribute version of the song is remastered by Alif Alauddin’s husband and renowned guitarist Kazi Faisal Ahmed.

During my childhood, I used to hear my mother sing this track on harmonium, and I had requested her to teach me this song, and eventually learned the song from her."

National award-winning music director Farid Ahmed dies
Renowned music director Farid Ahmed passed away at a hospital in the capital on Tuesday.
The music director was put on life-support at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Square Hospital on April 11. He tested positive for COVID-19 last month along with his wife Shiuly Akhter.
He was taken to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) on March 25. Alongside coronavirus, he was battling kidney and diabetes-related complications.
According to his daughter Durdana Farid, the namaz-e-janaza of Farid Ahmed will be held at Kalabagan Second Lane’s Law College field after Asr prayers.
He will be laid to eternal rest at the Martyred Intellectual Graveyard, Rayer Bazaar in the capital.
Farid Ahmed won the National Film Award in 2017 as the music director in the film 'Tumi Robe Nirobe'. In his esteemed career, he is known for creating many remarkable theme songs for popular television shows including the immensely popular title song "Keu Keu Obiraam Chupi Chupi" for Ityadi, as well as the title tracks of Hridoye Mati O Manush and Channel-i Shera Kontho, to name a few.
He is also credited for directing more than 300 background scores for television serials and over 3 thousand background scores for package dramas.
As one of the talented and renowned face in the industry, Ahmed is also noted for his collaboration with major artistes in many popular tracks including "Tumi Chara Ami Jeno Morubhumi" with Kumar Bishwajit, "Ferari Siren" with Runa Laila and "Dalchhut Projaputi" with Sabina Yasmin and Runa Laila, among others.
He was the general secretary of Resh Foundation, a music group that has been dedicatedly working for the wellbeing of music artistes in Bangladesh.
