Bangladesh reported two more Covid-linked death and 363 new cases in 24 hours till Friday morning. With the new numbers, the country's total fatalities rose to 29,339 and caseload to 2,016,946, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The daily case test positivity rate rose to 10.87 from Thursday’s 8.91 percent as 3,340 samples were tested. The latest deceased were a man and a woman from the Dhaka division. Read: Global Covid cases near 616 million The mortality rate and the recovery rate remained unchanged at 1.45 percent and 97.18 percent, respectively. In August, the country reported 32 Covid-linked deaths and 6,689 cases. Bangladesh registered its highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28 last year and daily fatalities of 264 on August 10 the same year.

Eighteen more people died of Covid-19 in Bangladesh and another 602 got infected by the deadly virus in the past 24 hours till Monday morning.

Covid-19 fatalities in Bangladesh soared to 8,003 as the country’s health authorities confirmed 22 more deaths in 24 hours till Saturday morning.

The confirmed Covid-19 cases globally surpassed 96.8 million with over 2.07 million deaths till Thursday morning, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University (JHU).

The death toll from Covid-19 disease reached 5,044 in Bangladesh as of Wednesday morning, as health authorities reported 37 more fatalities in 24 hours across the country. 

The recovery rate from Covid-19 in Bangladesh reached 70.14 percent on Thursday as 2,746 patients got cured from the deadly disease in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Thursday, pushing up the number of total recoveries since March to 2,33,550.
