Fire breaks out at Gazipur factory; 1 killed
Firefighters recovered the body of a man from a button factory at Bhangnahati in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur district after it caught fire on Sunday afternoon.
Fire fighters recovered the body of a man from inside the factory, said Mamunur Rashid, a deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The fire started at the factory around 1:45 pm and spread soon, said Khairul Islam Rony, station officer of the Station Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).
Local people said they heard sound of explosions from the spot possibly due to presence of chemicals at the factory.

Smoke billowing from the factory covered the whole area, creating panic among people.
Seven firefighting units brought the fire under control around 3:45 pm.

Dyeing factory warehouse gutted in Gazipur fire
A warehouse of a dyeing factory was gutted in a fire at Pagar in Tongi area of Gazipur district on Sunday.
The fire broke out at the warehouse of Hossain Dyeing and Printing Mills Ltd around 1:30 pm and spread soon, said senior officer of Tongi Fire Service and Civil Defense, Iqbal Hasan.
On information, five firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze after one and a half hour of frantic effort.

Cotton fabric were gutted in the fire.
However, what caused the fire could not be known immediately.

Fire at Gazipur textile mill could not be extinguished in 7 hrs
A fire that broke out in a textile mill in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur on Thursday morning could not be extinguished till the evening.
The fire started in a cotton godown of CRC Textile Mills Limited at Natun Bazar area around 11 am.

Seven fire tending units from Mawna and other adjacent are Fire Service were trying to control the flames until 6 pm, said Abdullah Arefin, Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service.
No injuries or casualties have been reported and the origin of the fire is yet to be known, he said.

Minor boy charred to death in Gazipur fire
An eight-year-old boy was charred to death in a fire that broke out at a house in Pagar Jhinuk Market in the Tongi area of Gazipur district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, a student of Al-Kawsar Tahmijul Quran Madrasha of Tongi and son of Joynal Abedin of Mymensingh district.
Iqbal Hasan, senior station officer of Tongi Fire Service, said the blaze started at the house belonging to Sadek Ahmed around 4pm and engulfed a portion of it.
Local people managed to bring the fire under control. Later firefighters recovered the charred body of Abdur Rahman from inside.
