Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies over the country in 24 hours, starting from 9 am on Monday, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). According to the daily weather bulletin, “Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies over the country.” Night and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said. A trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.

Meanwhile, a low pressure area may form over the Andaman Sea and adjoining area in next three days, it added. The mercury reached 34.7 degrees Celsius – the highest – in Bhola of Barishal division while the minimum temperature was recorded at 21.1 degrees in Tetulia of Rangpur division, in 24 hours till 6am on Sunday. A mild cold wave is sweeping Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Kurigram, Chuadanga and Moulvibazar districts, said the Bangladesh Metrological Department on Monday. “The cold wave may abate in some places on Monday. Light to moderate fog may occur at places over the country during midnight to morning,” said a Met office bulletin. Night and day temperature may rise slightly over the country. The lowest temperature of the country was recorded at 8.7 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division on Sunday while the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.2 degrees in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar district, according to the bulletin.

Bangladesh is likely to start Tuesday on a dry note as the sky may remain partly cloudy over Khulna division and elsewhere over the country in the next 24 hours.
