Beximco Dhaka knocked Fortune Barishal out of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup on Monday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

After the 20-match league phase, the Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020 is all set to enter the playoff phase on Monday. Apart from Minister Group Rajshahi, the other four teams have qualified for this round. 

Beating Beximco Dhaka by two runs, Fortune Barishal ensured a playoff berth on Saturday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. 

Gazi Group Chattogram beat Fortune Barishal by seven wickets in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup on Thursday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium riding on an impressive batting performance by Soumya Sarkar. Soumya took 37 balls to hit 62 with seven fours and three sixes to guide Chattogram to their sixth win in seven matches. Barishal’s playoff berth hinged on this game but the Tamim Iqbal-led side failed to capitalise the chance. They now have to win their last game of the league phase against Beximco Dhaka, and wait for Chattogram if they can beat Minister Group Rajshahi in their last game. In Thursday’s game, Chattgoram won the toss and sent Barishal to bat first. They made a stunning start adding 87 runs in the first wicket stand. Saif Hassan was the first wicket to fall posting 46 off 33 balls with six fours and to sixes.

Sabbir Rahman’s fifty and Robiul Islam Robi’s five-wicket-haul helped Beximco Dhaka to secure a playoff berth beating Gemcon Khulna by 20 runs on Thursday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

After losing three matches in a row, Beximco Dhaka have made a strong comeback winning back-to-back games in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020.

A nightmarish batting display while chasing a moderate total of 146, Beximco Dhaka suffered their third consecutive defeat in the ongoing Bangabandhu T20 League on to Gemon Khulna by 37 runs on Monday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Mushfiqur Rahim, the captain of winless Beximco Dhaka, said they are confident of making a strong comeback in the ongoing Bangabandhu T20 League.

In the opening game of Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020, Minister Group Rajshahi stunned Beximco Dhaka winning the game by two runs at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
