Bangladesh vs Pakistan
Taskin, Miraz lead dominant morning surge as Pakistan slump to 96-4
Bangladesh's bowling unit carried the momentum from Litton Das’s opening-day heroics into Sunday morning, executing a clinical collapse of the Pakistani top-order to leave the visitors reeling at 96-4 at a drinks-extended opening session on Day 2 in Sylhet.
Resuming from their overnight score of 21-0, Pakistan's unblemished start disintegrated within the first hour of play against a hostile new-ball spell from Taskin Ahmed.
Sylhet Test: Litton’s imperious ton lifts Tigers to fighting total; Pak openers survive tricky half-hour
Taskin struck first by removing Abdullah Fazal (9), luring the opener with a beautifully pitched away-slanter that coaxed a thick edge straight into the gloves of a diving Litton.
In his very next over, Taskin struck again to send first-innings centurion Azan Awais back to the pavilion for 13.
Coming from around the wicket, Taskin landed a fierce back-of-a-length delivery perfectly on the seam. The ball nipped back sharply, catching a thin inside-edge onto the pad before looping gently to Mominul Haque at short leg, leaving Pakistan stuttering at 23-2.
With the pacers having set a ferocious tone, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto introduced off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz to exploit the building pressure. The tactical switch paid immediate dividends.
Pakistan captain Shan Masood (21) looked to break the shackles by bludgeoning a shortish, wide delivery into the covers, only to hit it straight to substitute fielder Nayeem Hasan at short cover.
Miraz struck a massive psychological blow just before the session progressed further, accounting for Saud Shakeel (8). Attempting to counter the turn with a sweep, Shakeel only managed a top-edge off the toe-end of his bat, allowing Litton to comfortably claim his third dismissal of the match.
While the visitors crumbled around him, Babar Azam offered the solitary resistance for Pakistan. Batting with trademark composure, Babar hit five boundaries to reach an unbeaten 37 off 58 balls, pairing with Salman Agha (6*) to guide Pakistan to 96-4 at the end of 30 overs.
Bangladesh—who posted a competitive 278 on the opening day courtesy of Litton’s 126—currently, at the lunch of day 2, hold a massive 182-run cushion.
With Taskin (2-30) and Miraz (2-14) firing in tandem, the hosts will look to break the Babar-Salman partnership early in the afternoon session to force a definitive first-innings lead.

Pakistan debutants steady response after Abbas five-for
Pakistan’s debutants Azan Awais and Abdullah Fazal shared an unbeaten 73-run stand to guide the visitors to 179-1 at stumps on day two, trailing Bangladesh by 234 runs.
The hosts were bowled out for 413 during the morning session. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto’s 101 and Mominul Haque’s 91 provided the foundation, while Mushfiqur Rahim added a gritty 71.
Taskin Ahmed provided a late surge with a 19-ball 28 to help the side cross the 400-mark before the final wicket fell in the 118th over.
Pakistan’s pace attack spearheaded the morning fightback, led by Mohammad Abbas. Abbas utilized the early conditions to claim 5-51, while Shaheen Shah Afridi provided vital support with 3-67, including the key wicket of Mushfiqur.
In response, Pakistan navigated 46 overs with significant composure. Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Awais put on 106 before Mehidy Hasan Miraz provided the breakthrough. Miraz trapped Imam (45) leg-before with a delivery that skidded through to hit the stumps; a desperate review failed to save the opener.
Awais remained unbeaten on 85, striking 12 boundaries and nearing a debut century. He looked comfortable against both pace and spin alongside Fazal, who finished the day 37 not out.
Bangladesh’s bowlers toiled in the final session as Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana struggled to find the movement seen earlier in the day. Miraz remained the most effective option for the hosts, finishing with 1-37 from 16 overs.
Pakistan will resume Sunday morning looking to reduce the deficit, while Bangladesh seeks early breakthroughs to regain control on a wearing Mirpur track.

Shanto century anchors Bangladesh before Pakistan strike late
Najmul Hossain Shanto struck a commanding century to put Bangladesh in control before Mohammad Abbas struck just before tea to give Pakistan a much-needed breakthrough on the opening day of the first Test in Mirpur.
Shanto’s 101, his ninth Test hundred and his first against Pakistan, anchored a 170-run partnership with Mominul Haque.
The duo dominated a humid post-lunch session on a surface that offered little assistance to either pace or spin.
The breakthrough arrived in the 53rd over when Abbas trapped Shanto leg-before just in the next ball after the century.
A good-length delivery nipped back to strike the front pad as Shanto played across the line.
Although the on-field umpire initially turned down the appeal, Pakistan captain Shan Masood successfully reviewed the decision, with ball-tracking showing the delivery hitting off-stump.
Shanto reached his milestone in style the previous ball, drilling a half-volley from Abbas through the covers for four.
His 130-ball innings included 12 boundaries and two sixes, continuing a prolific run of form where he has consistently converted fifties into centuries.
While the session belonged to the hosts, the late wicket provided Pakistan with late momentum. Bangladesh now face a rebuilding phase in the final session, while Pakistan will likely target Mominul, who remains unbeaten having reached his 26th Test half-century.
The wicket ended Shanto's first big Test score against Pakistan, an opponent against whom he had previously struggled to reach double figures. Bangladesh will look to Mominul to lead the charge as they aim for a big first-innings total.

Bangladesh to sign several trade agreements with Pakistan: Commerce Adviser
Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin on Thursday said Bangladesh is set to sign several trade agreements with Pakistan to enhance bilateral cooperation.
The adviser made the announcement during a press conference held at the Secretariat.
The announcement followed a meeting between the adviser and visiting Pakistani Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, during which both parties engaged in open discussions to boost trade.
“We want to work together in food and agricultural development,” said the adviser. “Discussions included importing and exporting fruits, particularly pineapples, and seeking Pakistan’s support in boosting local sugar production. They have responded positively to all proposals.”
The adviser also mentioned Bangladesh’s request for the removal of the anti-dumping tax imposed by Pakistan on hydrogen peroxide imports, expressing optimism about a favourable outcome.
In addition, Bangladesh has announced a duty-free export of 10 million kg of tea to the Pakistani market.

The Pakistan Commerce Minister will remain in Dhaka for three more days to continue talks, with several agreements expected to be signed during the visit.
Bashir Uddin said they are also looking to establish a Trade and Investment Commission between the two countries.
He emphasised the untapped business potential between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
When asked whether closer trade ties with Pakistan might strain relations with India, the adviser declined to comment, stating, “Please ask the Foreign Affairs Adviser. We are focused on national interest and boosting our trade capabilities.”

Regarding 1971 issues, Bashir Uddin said the topic did not come up in discussions.
Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh said that trade between the two countries had been minimal for nearly 15 years.
Pakistan has shown a renewed interest, and we see no barriers to expanding trade, he said.
“Currently, we import more than we export to Pakistan. Our goal is to reverse that trend and create a more balanced and beneficial trade relationship,” he added.
Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider, Political Counsellor Kamran Dhangal, Trade and Investment Representative Zain Aziz, and Trade Assistant Waqas Yasin, were also present.

Rain washes away Bangladesh’s final Champions Trophy match
Persistent rain washed away Bangladesh’s last match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which was against the hosts Pakistan in Rawalpindi on Thursday.
As the match was washed away, both Bangladesh and Pakistan got one point each.
In their first two matches, Bangladesh lost to India and New Zealand. Pakistan have also lost both their first two matches.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Afghanistan knocks out England in historic win
Bangladesh’s batting performance in this event was below par. Towhid Hridoy hit a century against India, which was Bangladesh’s only bright spot from this year’s Champions Trophy.
As the Champions Trophy is now over for Bangladesh, they are set to play a two-Test series against Zimbabwe at home in mid-April before travelling to Sri Lanka for two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is in June-July.
And the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is also in talks for a home series against Pakistan.
Champions Trophy 2025: Ibrahim Zadran steers Afghanistan to 325 vs England
If the Pakistan home series is confirmed, it will take place just before Bangladesh hosts India in August-September for another white-ball series. Bangladesh will then participate in the Asia Cup in September before hosting West Indies for three Tests and three T20Is in October, followed by a home series against Ireland in November, which includes two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.

T20 World Cup 2022: How prepared is Bangladesh?
One of the main reasons for playing international series heading to the T20 World Cup 2022 is to find the right balance in the playing XI. However, the Bangladesh players' tri-nation series performances have been underwhelming. The concern of whether the Bangladeshi team has lived up to expectations in its preparatory matches still remains.
How have the players performed in the preparatory international fixtures?
The Bangladesh T20I team competed in a two-match series against the host United Arab Emirates in September following a lackluster performance at the Asia Cup 2022. The Tigers defeated the weak UAE team comfortably, but most of the players' performances fell short of expectations.
Read: Tri-Series: As Bangladesh suffer another defeat, New Zealand march to final
Bangladesh’s real test was awaiting in the New Zealand tri-nation series, and the worry has been confirmed once the series got underway. The team appears to lack a game plan; the batters have made bad shot choices and have approached the game with little effort; and the bowling unit hasn't been efficient enough on New Zealand's fast track.
Taskin Ahmed in bowling and Shakib Al Hasan in batting have shown good intentions among the players. Taskin’s accuracy, pace, and economy rates have all been satisfactory. He has picked up 2 wickets with an economy rate of 7.37 in 2 matches of the tri-nation series.
Shakib, on the other hand, has been struggling to find his rhythm with the ball. He has yet to earn a wicket and has an economy rate of 9 in two outings. However, Shakib’s 70 off 44 balls against New Zealand on Wednesday was encouraging despite Bangladesh losing the contest handsomely by 48 runs.
Among the others, none has had a particularly impressive performance in the series to date. Afif Hossain and Litton Das are considered special talents. Both had a couple of good starts but couldn’t prolong their innings. What’s more annoying is that after spending some time in the middle, they repeatedly make mistakes which cost their wickets. Yasir Ali played a hard-hitting knock in the death overs against Pakistan in the series opener, which impressed many. Bangladesh can consider him to be sent up in the batting order.
In bowling, spinners Nasum Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have maintained good economy rates, but they may not be go-to bowlers during the main event. The faster bowlers are expected to do well on fast bouncy wickets, but except for Taskin, all have failed to meet the expectations.
Bangladesh’s team performance hasn’t been up to the mark in this tri-nation series. Bowlers' main concern has been about not giving away too many runs, avoiding focusing more on picking up wickets. There is no specific strategy for batting. The batters have tried to play big shots whenever the asking rates go up. Everyone needs a specific role in batting in order to have the desired outcome from a contest. It seems every batter in Bangladesh tries, but none of them succeed.

Will Bangladesh’s brand of T20 cricket work in New Zealand?
The Bangladesh national men’s cricket team expectedly lost its opening match of the Bangla Wash tri-series against a high-ranked T20I side, Pakistan, by 21 runs on Friday (October 7) in Christchurch. The experts have the right to criticize the Bangladesh team, especially the batting unit, after their dismal display against Pakistan. Will their current strategy for T20 cricket work in New Zealand conditions?
Bangladesh’s T20I record in New Zealand
The men's national cricket team of Bangladesh is taking part in a tri-nation series in New Zealand. The series serves as a warm-up for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Fans of Tigers cricket shouldn't have too much hope based on their team's overall T20I record in New Zealand. Bangladesh team has failed to win a T20I match in New Zealand in eight attempts. They have lost seven out of their eight games against New Zealand, showing how challenging it is to compete at their highest level under these circumstances.

Did Bangladesh’s strategy for the T20 format work against Pakistan in the first match?
Simply stated, Bangladesh's T20 strategy against Pakistan didn't work out. Captain Nurul Hasan Sohan chose to bat first in order to have a definite goal to play for. The fast bowlers did not live up to expectations, with the exception of Taskin Ahmed, who was by far the best player for Bangladesh in the match. As usual, Bangladesh's batters were disappointing and did not put Pakistan's bowlers under any significant strain.
Bowling
Mustafizur Rahman is considered the main weapon of Bangladesh’s pace bowling unit. But his outing in the first match once again proved that the left-hand pacer is currently going through a bad phase and can’t be trusted as a death-overs bowler. Mustafizur was hammered by the Pakistan batters all around the ground and was the costliest bowler of the contest with 12 economy rates.
The Bangladesh campaign should be even more worried by witnessing how Mustafizur has performed in 2022. He has the worst average (42.37) and strike rate (29.2) among the Bangladesh bowlers who have bowled at least 10 overs in the last year. His 8.69 economy rate is also among the worst among the Bangladeshi players. This stat clearly suggests that Bangladesh shouldn’t trust Mustfaizur Rahman as one of their death-overs specialists, at least in Oceania conditions.
Young Hasan Mahmud was expensive against Pakistan. He needs to work with pace bowling coach Alan Donald on adjusting his line and length for these conditions. The performances of pace bowler Taskin Ahmed and spinner Nasum Ahmed were the two positives for Bangladesh. Taskin, in particular, was magnificent in his approach and the way he put pressure on the Pakistan batters. He finished his spell with 2/25 in 4 overs. Nasum Ahmed, on the other hand, conceded only 22 runs in his spell.

Batting
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was sent to start the innings with Sabbir Rahman as Bangladesh continued to experiment with the opening position. They were having trouble timing the ball when trying to settle into the wicket. Both of them failed and headed to the pavilion after having fewer than 100 strike rates.
The only chance Bangladesh had was during the middle overs, when Afif Hossain and Litton Das were forming a partnership. They tried to break free by hitting some shots, especially on the leg side. However, the bulk of their shots weren't solid enough, and they might easily fall into the hands of the fielders on any given day.
Bangladesh’s innings fell apart when Litton-Afif’s 50-run stand came to an end in the 13th over. Yasir Ali impressed many Bangladesh cricket fans by hitting some big shots and ending his innings with an unbeaten 42* off 21. However, one needs to understand that when Yasir tried to smack Pakistan bowlers, by then Bangladesh’s hope in the contest was done and dusted. He needs to show his power-hitting ability when under pressure. But Yasir has given a hint to the team management that promoting him to the top order could be a good idea.
Overall, Bangladesh's batters' strategy was shaky and ineffective under these circumstances. The batters had better be well-prepared to chase 200 runs in upcoming matches. They must possess the skills necessary to play shots confidently and the attitude needed to consistently pressure the opposing bowlers. Because their cautious strategy didn't work in the first game and it won't work in the following games either.

Bangladesh to take on Pakistan tomorrow in Bangla Wash T20I Tri-Series opener
The Bangla Wash T20I tri-series consisting of Bangladesh, Pakistan and host New Zealand is all set to kick off tomorrow (Friday) in Christchurch. In the opening match of the series, Bangladesh will take on Pakistan. Let’s take a look at how each team could line up, head-to-head records and pitch reports.
Bangladesh vs Pakistan: Probable Team Lineups
The tri-nation series will serve to prepare for the forthcoming Twenty20 World Cup 2022. The fringe players will likely get some chances during the series to test the strength of the squads. Besides, the teams will be aiming to construct their best playing XI for the ICC’s mega event. Here is the probable playing XI for the first match of the tri-series between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Bangladesh
Skipper Shakib Al Hasan was supposed to join the team on Tuesday and partake in the captains' photoshoot with the trophy. However, he was unable to join the Bangladeshi team because of a visa-related problem. Shakib will join the team on Thursday and lead the Tigers against Pakistan on Friday.
Sabbir Rahman and Litton Das may be considered Bangladesh's opening pair for this match, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz may also be sent to start the innings. The team management may choose to enhance the batting order by putting an extra batter in the playing XI due to the unknown playing conditions. Mohammad Saifuddin's selection in the team is therefore all but guaranteed, despite his poor run of form in recent international fixtures.
Predicted Playing XI
Sabbir Rahman, Litton Das, Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Afif Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan (wicket-keeper), Mehidy Miraz, Mohammad Saifuddin, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman
Pakistan
Pakistan recently lost a bilateral T20I series against England 4-3, which exposed some of their weaknesses in the team. By now, everyone is aware of how unstable Pakistan's middle order is and how much the team depends on the contributions of openers Babar and Rizwan. During this tri-nation series, Pakistan will be hoping to find a solution to their middle-order batting woes.
They have five prominent fast bowlers, and all are deserving candidates to find a place in the team. Therefore, they are in doubt about picking the ideal three pacers for the playing XI.
Predicted Playing XI
Babar Azam (captain), Mohammad Rizwan (wicket-keeper), Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Asif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Wasim, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain

Pakistan vs Bangladesh: H2H T20I records
Pakistan have a decent T20I record in New Zealand. They have 5 wins and 7 losses in New Zealand in the Twenty20 format. On the other hand, Bangladesh have never won a T20I in New Zealand, losing all 7 matches they have played in this region.
Pakistan led the head-to-head battle against Bangladesh with 13 wins in 15 matches. Bangladesh have only two T20I victories over Pakistan. Here are some noteworthy h2h records between the two teams.

Christchurch Weather and Pitch Report
There will be some cloudiness in Christchurch and a chance of rain on Friday. There have only been two T20I games played on this field, therefore there is not enough information to determine what a toss-winning captain should choose. However, chasing can be a wise choice given that a side can develop a plan for the innings. The match will start at 8 a.m. (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Aftermath
The Bangladesh selectors are somewhat concerned about how the batters will perform in New Zealand following their recent T20I results. Therefore, the opening game of the Bangla Wash T20I Tri-Series between Bangladesh and Pakistan on Friday will be a real test of the players' abilities to play on quick, bouncy surfaces. On the other hand, Pakistan will be expected to put on a solid performance, particularly from the middle order.

The 3 challenges Bangladesh may face in New Zealand Tri-Series 2022
With a little over two weeks left before the T20 World Cup 2022 begins in Australia, the participating teams are currently busy preparing themselves for the main event. In this perspective, New Zealand will organize a tri-series beginning on October 7 that includes Bangladesh and Pakistan. Let’s take a look at the 3 challenges Bangladesh may face in the forthcoming New Zealand Tri-Series 2022.
New Zealand Tri-Series 2022: The main challenges for the Bangladeshi players
The Bangladesh cricket team’s recent performance in the Twenty20 format hasn’t been impressive. They have won 4 out of 12 matches this year, but all of the wins have come against weaker opponents or teams at the same level. In this context, Bangladesh’s poor run in the T20 format itself will be a big challenge during the tri-nation series. Here are the three areas where the tigers may struggle in the upcoming competition.
Read: Bangladesh clinch T20I series vs UAE with easy win
Conditions
The Bangladesh players don’t have enough experience to play in the New Zealand conditions. A different skill set is required in order to do well in those kinds of conditions. Wickets in the Oceania region offer more bounce and pace. Balls come to the bat fast, and pace bowlers can get a lot of advantage from the surfaces.
Whereas, in Bangladesh and sub-continent conditions, wickets usually remain slow and damp. The wickets offer more turn and swing, and batters often find it tough to score runs. Therefore, Bangladesh's players need to be well versed in the conditions. More importantly, the sooner they can adapt to the condition, the better for them.
Strike Rotation - Batting
Bangladesh batters' strike rates have been really unimpressive. One of the main reasons for that is their inability to play big shots on a consistent basis. The batters mindset and approach need to adjust according to the format.
Because of the bouncy wickets, Bangladesh players may find it difficult to make an immediate impact in New Zealand conditions. But players will flourish if they can read the pitches properly and make some technical adjustments in their batting.
The T20I stats of Bangladesh players in New Zealand haven’t been good. The two players who have more than 100 T20I runs and fifty plus scores in an innings in New Zealand are Soumya Sarkar and Mahmudullah Riyad, but they are not part of the team. Soumya has a more than 150 strike rate as well.
Except for these two players, none of the Bangladesh players have even 100 Twenty20 international runs in New Zealand and their strike rates are poor as well. Therefore,a real challenge is waiting for the batters.

ICC 2022 Women’s CWC: Tigresses' Victory Over Pakistan Harks Back to 1999 World Cup Memory
The Bangladesh women's team made history at Sedan Park in Hamilton, New Zealand by winning a group stage match against Pakistan on Monday (March 14) in their first-ever World Cup. Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 9 runs in their third match of the ICC 2022 Women’s CWC. This outstanding triumph by the Bangladesh women's team stems back to the 1999 Men's Cricket World Cup reminiscence. Bangladesh's men's cricket team also earned a historic victory over Pakistan by competing in the World Cup for the first time. In this joyous moment, let's take a look back at Bangladesh's two memorable triumphs in cricket.
Bangladesh's women's and men's teams' historic victories against Pakistan in their respective first World Cup
One of the similarities between Bangladesh's women's and men's teams is that both won their first World Cup matches in their third fixtures. Bangladesh women's side suffered heavy losses to South Africa and New Zealand before winning their third match against Pakistan. On the other hand, the Bangladesh men's side lost their first two matches against New Zealand and the West Indies before winning a match against Scotland. Bangladesh's men's team won two of their five matches in the 1999 World Cup event.
Oppositely, Bangladesh's women's side has four matches left in the ICC 2022 Women's CWC. They are presently in sixth place with two points. They have a real possibility of finishing in the top four if they keep winning games in the coming fixtures. However, winning one more match will be regarded as a success for Bangladesh women's team. Take a look at how Bangladesh's women's and men's teams defeated Pakistan in their respective first World Cup.

Tigresses astonished Pakistan by making a remarkable comeback
Following two poor performances, Bangladesh women's team played well with the bat in their third match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 tournament against Pakistan on Monday. They batted first and scored 234/7 in their allocated 50 overs.
Bangladesh passed the 150-run mark thanks to a 96-run partnership between Fargana Haque and skipper Nigar Sultana. The lower middle-order batters then chipped in with their bats to help put a challenging total on the board. Fargana scored the most runs with 71, while Sharmin Akhter (44) and Nigar Sultana (46) also contributed significantly.
Pakistan had displayed a fantastic batting performance till the 40th over and they were on 182/2 at one stage. Pakistan appeared to be on the brink of victory. However, Bangladesh's women's team staged a remarkable comeback in the death overs. They took wickets at regular intervals and ultimately restricted Pakistan's innings to 225/9 in 50 overs.

Sidra Ameen's 104-run outing was for nothing. She stayed in the crease until the 48th over but was run out at a critical point in the game. Leg-spinner, Fahima Khatun was instrumental with the ball. Her spin shook Pakistan's middle order, and she concluded with an 8-0-38-3 mark. Fahima was deservedly named player of the match.
Tigers stunned the favourite Pakistan
Bangladesh's encounter against Pakistan was their final match in the group stage. Pakistan were the tournament favourites and had already qualified for the Super Six, while Bangladesh were looking to make a strong finish to the 1999 World Cup competition.
Bangladesh scored 223/9 in their 50 overs when they batted first. Akram Khan led the way with 42 runs, while opener Shahriar Hossain scored 39. However, it was Khaled Mahmud's crucial 27 runs in the lower middle order that allowed Bangladesh to post a competitive total.
Read SA vs BAN ODI Series 2022: SWOT Analysis of Bangladesh Squad
Bangladesh's team had no idea they would have such a strong start. However, Khaled Mahmud's slow-medium pace did the job for Bangladesh. Khaled was in a different frame of mind on that particular day as if he was on a mission. Bangladesh took five wickets in 13 overs thanks to his excellent stump-to-stump bowling. Pakistan was reduced to 42/5 and Khaled took three wickets alone.
Bangladesh team smelled victory after some early breakthroughs and they didn't waste it. Bangladesh bowled Pakistan out for 161 runs in 44.1 overs, despite several effective partnerships by Pakistan batters. Bangladesh triumphed by 62 runs, and Khaled Mahmud was named Player of the Match for his superb all-round effort.
Way Forward
Bangladesh men's cricket team has gone a long way since their incredible World Cup triumph over Pakistan in 1999. Bangladesh were granted Test status the following year, and they have since established themselves as one of the world's well-known men's cricket nations.

Oppositely, Bangladesh's women's team received a lot of media attention after winning the Asia Cup in 2018. The women's side has steadily improved in limited-overs formats since then. No one thought Bangladesh had a chance in the main event before the ICC 2022 Women's CWC. However, they proved everyone wrong by defeating Pakistan in a group phase fixture. Hopefully, this outstanding victory would spur Bangladesh's women's team to reach a new height.
