Fed Cup Football: Holders Bashundhara Kings to play Fortis FC on Tuesday
Defending champions Bashundhara Kings will play Fortis FC Ltd in a Group A match of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football 2023-24 at 2:30 pm at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Tuesday.
Brothers Union Club Ltd will meet Dhaka Wanderers Club in the other Group A match also at 2:30 pm at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Tuesday.
Earlier in the tournament opener, last season’s treble winners Bashundhara Kings managed 1-0 goal victory over Brothers Union Club to dominate the Group A list securing full three points from one match.
The other Group A opening match between Bangladesh Police FC and Fortis FC ended in a goalless draw to follow the league leader Kings securing one point each from one match.
Brother Union Club yet to open the account losing the opening match to the Kings while Dhaka Wanderers Club yet to start the tournament.
In the Group B, former champions Dhaka Abahani Limited and Rahmatganj MFS dominated the group securing full three points after playing their first match.
The Sky-Blue Dhanmondi outfit Dhaka Abahani,without any foreign footballer, made a flying start outplaying their minnow Chittagong Abahani Ltd by 3-0 goals while Rahmatganj MFS forced last time's runners up Dhaka Mohammedan SC to concede 0-1 goal defeat in the 10-team Federation Cup Football.

Dhaka Mohammedan SC, which shocked last season's treble winners Bashundhara Kings beating them by 1-0 goal in their 2nd BPL match, made a frustrating journey in the Federation Cup Football losing to Rahmatganj MFS by 0-1 goal at the Bashundhara Kings Arena.
This was the 2nd successive defeat for traditional black and whites Dhaka Mohammedan at the Basundhara Kings Arena (ground) this season after conceding 1-3 defeat against the Kings in the one-match Challenge Cup Football recently.
Ten premier division league clubs, split into two groups, are initially participating in the first phase of the Federation Cup Football at three venues in Dhaka, Mymensingh and Cumilla

Holders Bashundhara Kings managed 1-0 goal victory over Brothers Union Club in one of the two opening day' s matches of the 10- team Federation Cup Football Tournament' 2024-25 at the under prepared Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Tuesday
After a barren first half, defender Topu Barman scored the match-winning goal for the last season's treble winners and star studded Bashundhara Kings in the 69th minute (1-0).
Later, he was adjudged player of the match.
The day's other match between Bangladesh Police FC and Fortis FC ended in a goalless draw at the Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
This year's Federation Cup Football is being held in a new format without any semifinals.

Bashundhara Kings clinched the season's curtain raiser soccer meet, the Bangladesh 2.0 Challenge Cup Football 2024-25, beating Dhaka Mohammedan SC by 3-1 goals at the Basundhara Kings Arena here on Friday.

Defending champions Bashundhara Kings will start their campaign in the country's most prestigious football meet, the 10-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) taking on Brothers Union in one of the four opening day matches on Friday (Dec 22).
The first round match will kick-off at 4:30 pm at their home venue --Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Friday.

Besides, three more first round matches will be held on the opening day (Friday) at three venues across the country.
Former champions Dhaka Abahani Limited will play Rahmatganj MFS at 2:30 pm at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj, Mohammedan SC will face Fortis SC at 2:30 pm at Muktijoddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi while Bangladesh Police will meet Chittagong Abahani also at 2:30 pm at Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh in other first round matches on Friday.

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will play Sheikh Russel KC in the remaining first round match on Saturday (December 23) at 2:3O pm at the Bashundhara Kings Arena here.

League champions Bashundhara Kings will meet traditional black and whites Dhaka Mohammedan SC Ltd in the first semifinal of the Federation Cup Football' 2022-23 on Tuesday (May 9) at 3:15 pm at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.
In the 2nd semifinal, Sheikh Russel KC will play former champions Dhaka Abahani Limited at 3:15 pm on May 16 at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla

BPL Football: Bashundhara Kings continue unbeaten run beating Sheikh Russell 3-1
Defending champions Bashundhara Kings continued their unbeaten run in the eleven-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football Saturday after beating Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra 3-1 at the Bashundhara Sports Complex.
Star-studded Kings topped the league table with 21 points from seven straight matches; second-placed Dhaka Abahani earned 15 points from as many encounters.
Sheikh Russell remained in the fifth spot with 12 points from six matches.
After a goalless first half, Brazilian forward Robson Robinho put the Kings ahead in the 65th minute from a penalty (1-0); Uzbek midfielder Asror Gafurov doubled the lead in the 73rd minute (2-0).

Nigerian striker Sunday Udoy pulled one back for Sheikh Russell in the 82nd minute (2-1).

After a barren first half, Uzbek midfielder Asror Gafurov scored both the goals for the Kings in the 53rd and 90+4 minute.
