Defending champions Bashundhara Kings will play Fortis FC Ltd in a Group A match of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football 2023-24 at 2:30 pm at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Tuesday. Brothers Union Club Ltd will meet Dhaka Wanderers Club in the other Group A match also at 2:30 pm at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Tuesday. Earlier in the tournament opener, last season’s treble winners Bashundhara Kings managed 1-0 goal victory over Brothers Union Club to dominate the Group A list securing full three points from one match. The other Group A opening match between Bangladesh Police FC and Fortis FC ended in a goalless draw to follow the league leader Kings securing one point each from one match. Brother Union Club yet to open the account losing the opening match to the Kings while Dhaka Wanderers Club yet to start the tournament. In the Group B, former champions Dhaka Abahani Limited and Rahmatganj MFS dominated the group securing full three points after playing their first match. The Sky-Blue Dhanmondi outfit Dhaka Abahani,without any foreign footballer,  made a flying start outplaying their minnow Chittagong Abahani Ltd by 3-0 goals while Rahmatganj MFS forced last time's runners up Dhaka Mohammedan SC to concede 0-1 goal defeat in the 10-team Federation Cup Football. Former champions Dhaka Abahani Limited made a winning start  while last time's runners up Dhaka Mohammedan SC conceded defeat in the 10-team Federation Cup Football at two separate venues across the country on Tuesday. Dhaka Mohammedan SC, which shocked last season's treble winners Bashundhara Kings beating them by 1-0 goal in a BPL match last week, today (Tuesday) made a frustrating journey in Fed Cup Football losing to Rahmatganj MFS by 0-1 goal at the Bashundhara Kings Arena. This was the 2nd successive defeat for traditional black and whites Mohammedan at the Basundhara Kings Arena (ground)  this season after conceding 1-3 defeat against the Kings in the one-match Challenge Cup Football recently. Rajon Hawlader scored the match winning goal for the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj in the 83rd minute by an angular rebound shot (1-0). Rahmatganj started the season brilliantly winning all three matches after winning two consecutive  BPL matches.. Although, Rahmatganj winning the day' s match, but Mohammedan SC played a better game and they did everything except scoring goal from half dozen of good opportunities. Rahmatganj goalkeeper Mamun Alif   also performed brilliantly under the bar and foiled a series of Mohammedan good attempts. League champions Bashundhara Kings will meet traditional  black and whites Dhaka Mohammedan SC  Ltd in the first semifinal of the Federation Cup Football' 2022-23 on Tuesday (May 9) at 3:15 pm at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj. In the 2nd semifinal, Sheikh Russel KC will play former champions Dhaka Abahani Limited at 3:15 pm on May 16  at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla Earlier in the quarterfinals, Bashundhara Kings eliminated Muktijoddha SKC by 3-1 goal, Dhaka Abahani defeated Sheikh Jamal DC by 1-0 goal,  Mohammedan SC outplayed Chittagong Abahani Ltd by 4-1 goals while Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra beat Rahmatganj MFS by 1-0 goal. The final match between two winning semifinalists will be held on May 30 at 3:15 pm at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla The 3rd-place deciding match between two losing semifinalists will be held on May 23 the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.          

League champions Bshundhara Kings emerged Group B champions in the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football 2022-23 beating Chittagong Abahoni Limited by 2-0 goal at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Sradium in Cumilla on Tuesday.. They dominated the first half by a solitary goal . Local defender Topu Barman put the Kings ahead in the 40th minute (1-0) while Brazilian midfielder Miguel Ferrerira confirmed the winners victory scoring one more goal in the n55th minute (2-0).. Sumon Reza of the Kings and Mohammad Tarek of Ctg Abahoni got marching order in the 86th minute of the match after receiving direct red cards. In the day's other match, Bangladesh Muktijoddah Sangsad KC beat Fortis Football Club by 2-1 goalat the Fl. Lt Matiur Rahman Sradium in Munshiganj on Tuesday. Uzochukwn scored first for the freedom fighters team Muktijoddha in the 44th minute while Mohammad Sabuj neutralized the margin in the 85th minute. Sulemani scored the match winner for Muktijoddha SKC in the stoppage time (90+2 minute) of the match    

Bashundhara Kings and Chittagong Abahani Limited made a good start in the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football 2022-23 beating their rivals in two opening Group B matches at two different venues in the country on Tuesday. League champions Bashundhara Kings made a good start beating Fortis FC Ltd by 2-0 goal at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj Tuesday afternoon. After a barren first half, Uzbek midfielder Asror Gafurov scored both the goals for the Kings in the 53rd and 90+4 minute. In the day's other Group B match, Chittagong Abahani Limited beat Muktijoddha Sangsad KC by a solitary goal scored by Nigerian medio David in the 90th minute at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj Tuesday afternoon. Dhaka Abahani Ltd maintained their supremacy by clinching their 2nd consecutive trophy of the season, the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football title, beating surprising finalist Rahmatganj MFS by 2-1 goals in the final at the Bir Shreshta Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur here on Sunday. Abahani will now represent Bangladesh in the next AFC Cup.  Daniel Colindres put Abahani ahead in the stoppage time of the first half (45+1) minute (1-0). Independence Cup champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd and Rahmatganj MFS reached the final of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football Tournament eliminating Saif SC and Dhaka Mohammedan in the semifinals at the Bir Shreshta Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Thursday. Eleven-time champions Dhaka Abahani Limited eliminated last year’s finalists Saif Sporting Club by 4-3 goals in tie breaker as the 2nd semifinal match was locked in 2-2 goals in the regulation time and also ended in 3-3 goals in the extras time Thursday night. The old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj MFS, coming from behind booked a seat for the final for the 2nd occasions shocking 10 times champions Dhaka Mohammedan SC by 2-1 goals in the first semifinal Thursday afternoon. The two teams will play final on Sunday (Jan 9) at the same venue. Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society reached the semifinals of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football Tournament ’21 eliminating Sheikh Russel KC by 4-3 goals in the 3rd quarter-finals at the Bir Shreshta Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Monday. They will play Dhaka Mohammedan SC in the first semifinal on January 6 at the same venue while Saif Sporting Club will play in the other semifinal, also on January 6, against the winners of Sheikh Jamal DC and Dhaka Abahani Limited.  The day’s match between Sheikh Russel KC and Rahmatganj MFS was locked in 3-3 goals in the stipulated period. Saif Sporting Club and Dhaka Mohammedan SC reached the semifinals of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football Tournament ’21 eliminating their rivals in the quarter-finals at the Bir Shreshta Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Sunday. The 10-time champions Dhaka Mohammedan SC will play Saif SC in the first semifinal on January 6. Dhaka Mohammedan SC eliminated Chittagong Abahani Limited by 2-1 goals in the day’s first quarterfinal Sunday afternoon.
