BPL Football: Former champions Dhaka Abahani, Dhaka Mohammedan win
Former champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd and Federation Cup champions Dhaka Mohammedan SC maintained their winning run in the 4th round of the 10-team ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at two separate venues across the countries on Saturday.
Dhaka Abahani registered the 2nd sucessive win beating another former champions Sheikh Russel KC by 3-1 goals at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.
They dominated the first half by 2-0 goals.

Brazilian midfielder Jonathon Fernandes put Abahani ahead in the 12th minute (1-0) while St. Vincent forward Stewart doubled the Abahani margin in the stoppage time of the first half (45+2 minute).
Local striker Sumon Reza pulled the Sheikh Russel margin one back scoring one goal in the 73rd minute ( 2-1).
Later, Stewart sealed the fate of the match scoring his 2nd goal in the 85th minute (3-1).
Dhaka Mohammedan SC maintained their 2nd slot intact in the league table beating Bangladesh Police FC by 3-2 goals at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
The match was locked in 1-1 goals in the first half.

Local forward Jafar Iqbal scored first for Dhaka Mohammedan in the 27th minute (1-0) while Colombian booter Palacios leveled the margin for Police in the 34th minute (1-1).
Uzbek booter Muzaffarov again put Mohammedan ahead in the 70th minute (2-1) while Mali forward Souleymane Diabate further widen the Mohammedan margin in the 78th minute (3-1).
Later, Shahed Miah reduced the Police FC margin scoring one more goal in the 84th minute (3-2).
After the day's 4th round matches, Dhaka Mohammedan SC maintained their 2nd slot in the league table securing ten points with three wins and draw while Dhaka Abahani Ltd remained at the 3rd slot securing seven points with two wins, one draw and one defeat
BPL and Independence Cup champions Bashundhara Kings comfortably dominated the league table with all win record securing full 12 points from straight four matches.
Federation Cup Football: Holders Mohammedan SC, runners-up Dhaka Abahani make good start
The day's other league match between two lowly teams --Chittagong Abahani Ltd and Brothers Union Club-- ended in 2-2 draw at the Bir Shreshtha Fl Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
Former national striker Mahbubur Rahman Sufil scored both the goals for Brothers Union in the 12th and 53rd minutes while Mannaf Rabby and Nasir Chowdhury scored one each for Ctg Abahani in the 80th and 82rd minutes.
The 5th round matches will be held on next Friday and Saturday.

Ind Cup Football: Dhaka Mohammedan reach quarterfinal beating Fortis FC 3-1
Dhaka Mohammedan SC reached the quarterfinal of the season’s curtain raiser soccer meet, the Bashundhara Group Independent Cup Football 2022 from Group A beating Fortis Football Club by 3-1 goals at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Thursday.
This was the 2nd consecutive win for the Dhaka Mohammedan SC in the meet after beating Bangladesh Navy by 2-0 goals in their first match.
Mohammedan will play Sheikh Russel KC on November 21 to decide the Group A champions.
In the day's match, all the four goals were scored in the first half.

Mali striker Souleymane Diabate put the traditional black and white team ahead in the 6th minute (1-0) while Brazlian forward Luis Carlo leveled the margin for Fortis FC in the 14th minute (1-1).
Mohamedan again took lead in the 26th minute by a goal from Brazilain player Oliveira 2-1) and local booter Jafor further sounded the Mohammedan margin in the 39th minute (3-1).
In the day's other match, Sheikh Russel KC tasted the first victory in the tournament beating all losers Bangladesh Navy by 2-0 goals at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj on Thursday
Sheikh Russel KC played 1-1 draw with Fortis FC in their first appurtenance.

BPL Football: Dhaka Mohammedan crush Uttar Baridhara 3-0
Dhaka Mohammedan moved to the fifth spot in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football table after hammering Uttar Baridhara Club 3-0 at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla Friday.
Mohammedan went ahead in the match in the stoppage time of the first half (48th minute) as Uttar Baridhara's Ivory Coast defender Youssouf scored an own goal (1-0).
Malian striker Souleymane Diabate scored the second goal for the Black and Whites in the 70th minute (2-0).
Nigerian left winger Ugochukwu Obi Moneka sealed the fate of the match after scoring the third goal for Mohammedan in the stoppage time of the match (92nd minute).
With the victory, the Black and Whites secured the fifth spot in the table with 29 points from 19 matches. Uttar Baridhara remained at the 10th slot with 13 points from 19 matches.
The Kings collected 49 points in 19 matches, and they need just one win in their remaining three matches against Saif SC on July 18, Dhaka Abahani on July 24 and Sheikh Jamal on July 30 to lift the title for the third time in a row.

Six-time champions Dhaka Abahani secured 41 points from 19 matches, seven points behind league leader Kings.
In the day's other match, Bangladesh Police dropped a point as their encounter with Rahmatganj ended in a goalless draw at the Muktijoddha Smriti Stadium in Rajshahi.
Police slipped to the sixth spot after collecting 29 points; Old Dhaka's Rahmatganj remained in ninth place with 15 points.
In the other match, Muktijoddha Sangsad snatched an important point from Sheikh Russel in a goalless affair at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.
Sheikh Russel remained in the 8th slot with 22 points from 19 matches. Muktijoddha remained at the 11th slot after securing 12 points from 19 matches.
Swadhinata remained rooted at the bottom of the points table with nine points from 19 matches.

BPL Football: Mohammedan beat Sheikh Jamal 3-1 to return to winning ways
Dhaka Mohammedan returned to winning ways in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football after outplaying three times champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi 3-1 at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla Monday.
Mohammedan suffered a 2-4 defeat against their arch-rivals Dhaka Abahani in their last match at the same venue Wednesday.
In the day's match, local midfielder Sheikh Morsalin put Mohammedan ahead in the 34th minute (1-0).

Sheikh Jamal restored parity in the 38th minute when Mohammedan's Malian striker Souleymane Diabate scored an own goal while trying to block a dangerous shot (1-1).
However, Souleymane compensated for his mistake by scoring two goals in the 43rd and 83rd minutes, both from penalties (3-1).
Despite Monday's win, Mohammedan remained at the sixth spot in the league table, securing 25 points from 17 matches. Sheikh Jamal remained at the fourth spot with 30 points from as many matches.

Defending champions and table topper Bashundhara Kings secured 44 points from 17 matches, nine points ahead of the second-placed Dhaka Abahani.
Six times champions Dhaka Abahani earned 35 points from 16 matches and third-placed Saif DC secured 30 points from 16 matches.

BPL: 6-goal thriller ends even between Ctg Abahani, Dhk Mohammedan
Two mediocre teams -- Chittagong Abahani Ltd and Dhaka Mohammedan -DC -- shared points with each other as their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football encounter ended in 3-3 draw at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Sunday.
Malian striker Souleymane Diabate made a hattrick for the traditional black and whites Mohammedan in the match scoring all the three goals in the 2nd, 67th and 90+5 minutes.
Shakhawat Hossain scored twice in the 12th and 26th minutes while Nigerian forward Peter Thankgod netted the remaining goal for the port city team Ctg Abahani in the 59th minute from a penalty.
In the day's other match. Uttar Baridhara Club beat newcomers and bottom ranked Swadhinata KS by 2-0 goals at the Muktijoddha Smriti Stadium in Rajshahi.
Mustafa scored both the goals for Baridhara team in the 27th and 90+4 minutes.
After the day's match, Chittagong Abahani remained at the 5th slot with 23 points while Dhaka Mohammedan are in the 6th place with 22 points, playing 14 matches each.
After the day's 14th round matches, Bashundhara Kings further consolidated their solo lead in the league table securing 35 points, Dhaka Abahani Ltd followed the leader distantly collecting 31 points while Sheikh Jamal DC are in the 3rd slot with 27 points.

BPL Football: Sohel guides Dhaka Abahani to take solo lead beating Dhaka Mohammedan 1-0
National medio Sohel Rana guided six-time champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd to take solo lead in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating Mohammedan SC by 1-0 goal at their home venue of Sylhet District Stadium on Wednesday.
With the day's victory against their traditional black and white rivals Dhaka Mohammedan SC, the sky blue popular Dhanmondi outfit Abahani toppled the last two times champions Bashundhara Kings with unbeaten run securing 13 points from five matches.

After the match, star studded Bashundhara Kings went down to the 2nd slot from top with 12 points from five matches while Mohammedan SC shared the 4th slot with Chittagong Abahani collecting eight points each playing five and four matches respectively.
In the day's match, national coloured midfielder Mohammad Sohel scored the match-winning goal for Dhaka Abahani in the 28th minute (1-0).

Nigerian attacking midfielder Matthew Chinedu scored the match deciding goal for Sheikh Jamal DC in the 33rd minute (1-0).
With the day's victory, Sheikh Jamal DC remained at the 3rd place in the league table with an unbeaten record securing 11 points from five matches while Sheikh Russel KC went down to the 7th slot with five points from five encounters.

Fed Cup Football: Mohammedan emerge group champions
Dhaka Mohammedan SC played to a 1-1 draw with newcomers Swadhinata KS in their first match of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football ’21 on Monday.
Captain Souleymane Diabate put the black and white Mohammedan SC ahead in the 39th minute (1-0) at Bir Shreshta Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur here.
But, their joy for lead did not last long as Nedo Turkovic of Bosnia & Herzegovina restored the parity for Swadhina KS in the following minute (1-1).
Later, in the group deciding play-off match, Dhaka Mohammedan SC emerged group champions beating Swadhinata KC by 4-3 goals in the tiebreaker on Monday evening.

The tournament was supposed to start on Saturday but it could not be rolled out as per the schedule as two participating teams–holders Bashundhara Kings and Uttar Baridhara Club—failed to turn up in the field against Swadhinata KS and Dhaka Abahani Ltd respectively.
However, the tournament kicked off on Sunday with Saif Sporting Club playing 1-1 draw with Bangladesh Police FC in the match at the same venue.
Meanwhile, the BFF disciplinary committee in its meeting on Monday took punitive action against Bashundhara Kings and Uttar Baridhara Club for the incident.
The disciplinary committee banned Bashundhara Kings and Uttar Baridhara Club for the next edition of Federation Cup Football and also imposed a fine of Tk five lakh each against two teams, which will be deposited to the BFF office by January 27 next year.

Besides, Swadhinata KS declared winner by 3-0 goals against Bashundhara Kings and Dhaka Abahani Ltd declared winners, also by 3-0 goals, against Uttara Baridhara Club.
Earlier, BPL champions Bashundhara Kings were absent for their match mentioning below standard condition of Kamalapur Stadium for professional football and what they see as “bad intension” behind late change in the fixture.
Earlier, three premier division clubs – Bashundhara Kings, Muktijoddha Sngsad KC and Uttara Baridhara Club –informed the BFF in writing that they would not play the Federation Cup in the unplayable conditions at Kamalpur Stadium.
After Saturday’s incident, BFF Senior VP and Chairman of the professional league committee Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP said the Federation Cup Football will go ahead with the teams willing to participate and the fate of first day’s two ill-fated matches will be decided as per rules.

BPL Football: Police come from behind to force draw against Mohammedan
Bangladesh Police came from a goal down to pull back a point in a 1-1 draw against Dhaka Mohammedan in the 20th round match of the 13-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football 2020-21 Thursday.
Jafar Iqbal, the 21-year-old promising midfielder from Bandarban, put Mohammedan ahead in the 17th minute (1-0) and they maintained the lead till the 85th minute of the match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
But Police FC's Ivory Coast player Christian Kouakou scored four minutes before the final whistle to depart with a 1-1 draw against Mohammedan.

The victory gave fifth-placed Dhaka Mohammedan 33 points from 19 matches. Police remained at eighth spot with 19 points from 18 outings.

Second-placed Sheikh Jamal earned 38 points from 17 encounters; Dhaka Abahani remained at third spot with 36 points from 18 outings.

BPL Football: Bashundhara beat Mohammedan 1-0; maintain 100% unbeaten run
Title aspirant Bashundhara Kings extended their unbeaten run to 17 matches in the 13-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football after beating Dhaka Mohammedan 1-0 Wednesday.
As the hard-fought second phase match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium was about to end in a draw, Argentine forward Raul Becerra netted the match-winner for the Kings in the stoppage time (90+4 minute).

The Kings' Yeasin and Sujon of Mohammedan got red cards.
With Wednesday's win, star-studded Kings stayed at the top of the table with 49 points from 17 matches, 16 points ahead of their nearest rivals Dhaka Abahani who bagged 33 points from 16 encounters.

BPL Football: Mohammedan move to 4th spot beating Sheikh Russel 1-0
Dhaka Mohammedan advanced to the fourth spot in the points table of 13-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football after beating former champions Sheikh Russel 1-0 Saturday.
Burkina Faso defender Mounzir Coulidiati scored the match-winning goal for Mohammedan at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the 37th minute of the match with a brilliant header off a corner of Habibur Rahman Shohag (1-0).

This was the third straight victory for Mohammedan in the second phase of the league, followed by their victory against Arambagh and Saif.
Mohammedan, which advanced to fifth place beating Saif in the last match, today moved one step ahead, pushing Sheikh Russel to fifth place.
