Badhon’s first glimpse in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Khufiya teaser
After much speculation about Azmeri Haque Badhon’s debut in Bollywood, fans got to see her first look for Vishal Bhardwaj’s spy thriller ‘Khufiya’ in a teaser released today.
The teaser was released by Netflix on Monday in the form of a blurred image where the mystery is maintained, even if Badhon's character can be made out to be in saree.
Besides Badhon, fans got similarly stealing glimpses of her Indian co-actors in the film, the extremely highly regarded Tabu and relative newcomer Ali Fazal, on the day without unveiling much about the story itself.

The spy thriller’s screenplay is based on writer Amar Bhushan’s ‘Escape to Nowhere’ which was inspired by true events.
Badhon's acting was rarely talked about till her formidable turn as the title character in Rehana Maryam Noor, which was selected in the 'Un Certain Regard' section at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.

Soon after that she was seen in an episode of the thriller web series, Rabindranath Ekhane Kawkhono Khete Aashenni (English: Rabindranath never came here to eat), directed by Srijit Mukherji.

Hong Kong Asian Film Festival: 'Rehana Maryam Noor' bags New Talent Award
Abdullah Mohammad Saad's film "Rehana Maryam Noor" added another feather to its cap – "New Talent Award" at the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival 2021 – Monday.
The festival jury board officially announced the movie as the winner of this special on its social media channels.
Other movies that competed in this category were "Ballad of a White Cow (Iran)," "Costa Brava (Lebanon)," "Kim Min-young of the Report Card (South Korea)," "Increasing Echo (Taiwan)," "Shankar's Fairies (India)" and "White Building (Cambodia)."

"'Rehana Mariyam Noor' creates a vividly claustrophobic and oppressive environment in which an individual is pushed to the edge of her sanity. Driven by dynamic handheld camerawork, the cinematography plunges the viewer into the protagonist's difficult situation," the festival's jury board said.
"Azmeri Haque Badhon's superb performance evokes her character's heightened, intense emotional state, as she obsesses over her fight for her idea of justice."
Recently Saad, director of the film, won the Jury Grand Prize at the 14th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) and Badhon received the award for the best actress.
The film was released last Friday in Bangladesh and is now successfully running across the country.
Nominated as the first Bangladeshi film to be screened in the "Un Certain Regard" section of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, the film received a standing ovation at its premiere.

After Cannes, "Rehana Maryam Noor" was invited to Melbourne, Busan and London Film Festivals.
The film has been officially nominated for the upcoming Oscars 2022 as the official movie of Bangladesh.

Cricketer Shakib, actor Badhon become ISHO brand ambassadors
ISHO, a furniture and lifestyle company, announced the appointment of Shakib Al Hasan and Azmeri Haque Badhon as its brand ambassadors Saturday.
Shakib, one of the world's most recognisable cricketers, has helped establish the national team as a cricketing powerhouse and Badhon put Bangladesh on the cinematic map when she was feted during the Cannes Film Festival for her performance in "Rehana Maryam Noor."

Badhon's performance in RMN gets Best Actress nomination at 14th APSA
‘Rehana Maryam Noor’ famed popular actress Azmeri Haque Badhon has been nominated for the 14th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in the "Best Actress" category.
The official website announced the nominations for the upcoming edition of the award on Wednesday featuring Badhon for the particular category, who got the nomination for her critically acclaimed performance in Abdullah Mohammad Saad's second directorial venture "Rehana Maryam Noor."
Badhon will compete against Alena YIV for "Asia," Valentina Romanova Chyskyyray for “Scarecrow,” Leah Purcell for "The Drover's Wife the Legend of Molly Johnson," and Essie Davis for "The Justice of Bunny King," have all been nominated for "Best actress."
Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand, Qatar, South Korea, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, and, for the first time, Vietnam, are among the 25 Asia Pacific countries that got nominations in the 14th edition of APSA.

The winners of each category will be announced at the 14th ASPA Ceremony on Lakeside Room, HOTA Home of the Arts, Surfers Paradise in Australia's Gold Coast on November 11th which will be broadcast live throughout the world.
APSA website mentioned the accolades of Badhon on its ‘Nomination Detail’ section, which said, “Azmeri Haque Badhon is a well-known model and television actress in Bangladesh whose career took off after winning the runner-up prize in a popular beauty pageant (Lux-Channel i Superstar 2006). Rehana Maryam Noor is her first major role in a feature film that went on to become the first Bangladeshi film ever to be selected in an Official Competition at Cannes.” “Formally trained in dental surgery, Badhon is a single mother, living in Dhaka with her 10-year old daughter. She is an advisor to a non-profit organization that works for youth and has been a consistent vocal about women’s empowerment, gender equality and mental illness,” it added.

The first Bangladeshi film to be selected for the Cannes Film Festival's Un Certain Regard section, ‘Rehana Maryam Noor” has recently received uncut censorship from the Bangladesh Film Censor Board.
Co-produced by Sensemakers Productions and produced by Jeremy Chua of the Singapore-based film firm Potocol under the umbrella of Metro Video, the film is expected to release in the last week of this month.

Badhon's Early Life, Family, and Education
Badhon was born on October 28, 1983, in Bikrampur Munshiganj. However, she grew up in different parts of Bangladesh as her father was a government job holder, and he used to move to different locations due to transfer. Therefore, Badhon has studied in multiple schools in her childhood. However, during childhood she lived in Rajbari for three years. Other than that, she stayed in Dhaka most of the time after she became Lux Channel I Superstar.
Later she studied in Bangladesh Medical College and completed BDS, and became a dentist in 2009. However, Badhon was more focused on the media and television industry.
