Man suffers bullet wounds in Natore clash over removing rain water
A man sustained bullet injuries in a clash between two groups of villagers over draining rain water in Lalpur upazila of Natore district on Tuesday. The injured was identified as Rajab Sardar of Nagsosha village. Monowaruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Lalpur Police Station, said waterlogging problem has been created at the house of Jamir Uddin of Nagsosha village due to incessant rain for a couple of days. When he tried to make a drain over the land of one person Fazar Sardar to extract the rainwater, they got involved in a heated argument. At one stage, the supporters of both groups were involved in it, triggering a clash, leaving Ajmat Sardar injured. When both groups attacked each other, Sumon, son of Jamir Uddin, opened fire on them, leaving Rajab injured with bullets. On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The injured were first taken to the upazila health complex and then shifted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital. Police also seized a bullet and shell of a bullet from the spot.

Post-poll violence: 11 suffer bullet wounds in Gopalganj clash
At least 30 people were injured, 11 of them with bullet wounds, after supporters of winning and losing chairman candidates in Gopalganj union parishad polls clashed on Tuesday morning.
Locals said there had been rivalry between the two centering the UP election at Parchandra Dighalia village of the union.

As a sequel to the enmity, defeated chairman candidate Sheikh Md Abed Ali's supporters attacked the supporters of newly elected chairman of Rana Molla in the morning, leaving 30 people injured.
Eleven of the injured, who suffered bullet wounds, were undergoing treatment at Gopalganj General Hospital, said Dr Bichitra Kumar Biswas, an emergency unit doctor of the hospital.

Besides, six houses were vandalized during the clash.
Sheetal Chandra Paul, Inspector (Investigation) of Gopalganj Police Station, said a large number of police personnel have been deployed at the village to keep the situation under control.

Feni election violence: 11 suffer bullet wounds, 72 detained
Eleven people, including a woman and a child, were shot and wounded during a clash between the supporters of two candidates of ongoing UP polls at Sonagazi upazila in Feni on Sunday.
The wounded were identified as child Asma Akhter, her mother Fatema Akhter, Mizan, Yusuf, Fakir, Shipon, Ismail, Siddique, Nabi, Mia Saheb and Raj.
Witnesses said supporters of member candidate Omar Farooq Sajib opened fire when the supporters of another candidate blocked their way to get inside the centre of Charchandia Hossainiya Government Primary School at noon.

Later, the injured were sent to Sonagazi Health Complex.
Titu Ranjan Das, presiding officer of the centre, said no untoward incident occurred inside it.
Additional Superintendent of Police Thoai Ampra Marma said the situation is under control now.
Meanwhile, Sajedul Islam, acting officer-in-charge of Sonagazi Model Police Station, said police arrested 72 people on various charges during the election.

Munshiganj election violence: 5 suffer bullet wounds
Five people were shot and injured during a clash between the supporters of two candidates of upcoming UP polls at Charkewa in Munshiganj Sadar Upazila on Sunday night.
Police said the clash broke out in Khaskandi and Choto Mollakandi villages of the union between supporters of the Al-backed candidate Afsar Uddin Bhuiyan and the independent candidate Akhtaruzzaman Jibon around 7pm.

Police said miscreants exploded cocktails and opened fire on their rivals during clashes. More than 50 houses were vandalized during the melee.
Five supporters of the Al-backed candidate suffered bullet wounds in the clashes. Three of them were sent to Dhaka in critical conditions while admitted to Munshiganj General Hospital.
According to Al-backed candidate Afsar Uddin Bhuiyan, a number of people, including his supporters Sharif, Saiful, Nazmul, Babu Haldar, Monir and Ramzan, were injured in the attack.
However, independent candidate Akhtaruzzaman denied the allegations and claimed that the AL supporters attacked his followers.

Meanwhile, a farmer, Abdul Haque, 48, died of a heart attack during the clash, police said.
Munshiganj ASP Suman Deb said additional police have been deployed in the area as tension is prevailing there due to the election violence.

Tourist vehicle comes under attack in Rangamati: 2 injured
A tourist vehicle was attacked by miscreants on Rangamati-Bandarban road at Golachipa in Rajasthali upazila of Rangamati district on Saturday.
Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Chandraghona Police Station, Mafzal Hossain Khan, said a group of miscreants ambushed the vehicle carrying 19 tourists while passing through the area around 7:30 pm.
Two tourists --Waisinu Marma and Mehaising Marma— suffered serious bullet wounds in the attack. They were taken to Chandraghona Hospital in Kaptai upazila.

A tense situation is prevailing in the area following the incident.
Meanwhile, army personnel took the whole area under their control. Additional cops have also been deployed to avert further trouble.
However, the tourists, who escaped unhurt, were sent to Rajasthali Poati by another vehicle.
