APBN rescues abducted Indian girl; 1 arrested
An abducted Indian girl, who had been missing since last January 2022, was rescued by Armed Police Battalion (APBN) Uttara from a house under Tangi Pashcim Police Station on Thursday.
On January 20, an Indian citizen named Pradip Pal from North 24 Parganas district of West Bengle filed a case claiming that Bangladeshi citizen Kaushik Bishwas abducted his 14-year-old daughter Sreeja Pal and hid somewhere in Dhaka.
The Indian High Commission informed the Bangladesh foreign ministry which directed Bangladesh police to take immediate action about the matter.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Operation) Kazi Rubaiyat Rumi said that Sreeja Palwas was rescued from a house under Tongi West Police Station through a special operation of 11-APBN Uttara on Thursday and Kaushik Biswas was also arrested.
A case has been filed regarding the incident with Tangi West Police Station.

APBn detains Saudi resident with yaba at Dhaka Airport
Members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) on Saturday detained a Saudi Arabia resident with 15,400 yaba pills at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The detainee has been identified as Md Rubel Hossain, originally from Chandpur district.
Additional SP of Airport Armed Police (AAP) Mohammad Ziaul Haque said they detained Rubel on suspicion in front of Gate No. 1 of the departure terminal this afternoon.
During preliminary interrogation, Masud revealed that he had kept 15,400 Yaba pills in his luggage which were recovered later, he added.
Legal action will be taken against him, said the ASP.

6 Rohingyas held from refugee camps
Armed Police Battalion (APBN) on Friday held six Rohingyas accused in different cases from the refugee camps in Ukhia and Teknaf.
The arrestees were Abdul Mannan and Enayetullah from Madhuchhara camp; Taher from Irani hill; Nazim Uddin and Nur Bashar from Lambasia camp; Usman from Kutupalongwas.

Captain of the 14th Armed Police Battalion and in-charge of the Ukhia Rohingya camp, superintendent of police Naimul Haque, said the detainees were involved in various crimes including extortion, kidnapping, robbery, murder cases in the Rohingya camp area.

He said that the arrestees were handed over to Ukhia police station to take necessary legal action.
