A woman with a mental disorder died Sunday afternoon after falling from the roof of a market building in Madaripur town. The deceased was identified as Noor Setara, 45, daughter of Akkas Bayati of the Kathpatri area of the town. Family sources said Setara's mother used to work as a home maid. Read: Buet student Fardin died after jumping off bridge, Rab says As her mother was late to return home, Noor Setara went up to the roof of the Big Mosque market to look for his mother and suddenly fell down. Later, She was rushed to Madaripur Sadar Hospital where doctors on duty declared her dead, said Monowar Hossain Chowdhury, officer-in-charge (OC) of Madaripur Sadar Police Station.  

A 42-year-old man died after falling off the rooftop of a building in Galimpur village of South Surma upazila on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Anwarul Haque Alam, son of Askander Ali of the village. Kamrul Hasan Talukder, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of South Surma Police Station of SMP, said Anwarul went to fix the pipe on the roof of the 2-storey building around 7pm. He was rushed to Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. As there is no complaint in this regard, the body will be handed over to the family without autopsy, added the OC.

An 11-year old boy died on Thursday falling from the roof  of a seven-storied building in the city's Sturapur area. The deceased was identified as Salvi Jihad, a student of class IV and son of Shah Alam, mechanic of a local welding factory. According to Jihad’s uncle Masud, Jihad went to the rooftop of a neighbour’s building in RM Das lane with some other kids in the afternoon. Jihad was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition where  doctors announced him dead at 5:30 pm, said Bacchu Mia, In-charge Inspector of DMCH police outpost. The body has been sent for an autopsy and the concerned police station has been informed about the accident, he said.
