AHF Cup Hockey: Bangladesh to play Thailand in semifinal on Wednesday
Bangladesh, the unbeaten champions of Pool B, will play Pool A runners-up Thailand in the semifinal of the eight-nation Men's Junior Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Cup (Under-21) Hockey Tournament on Wednesday (January 11) at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in the Muscat in Oman.
The match will kick-off at 6:30 pm( local time).
The Pool A champion and host Oman will play Pool B runners-up Uzbekistan in the other semifinal at the same day and same venue at 4 15 pm local time.
As the semifinalist of the ongoing meet, Bangladesh also qualified for the next Youth Asia Cup Hockey.
The final and 3rd place deciding matches of the meet will be held on Thursday (Jan 12) at the same venue.

Earlier, Bangladesh emerged Pool B champions in the eight-nation Men's Junior AHF Cup (Under-21) Hockey with all-win record securing full nine points from straight three matches after beating Hong Kong by 4-0 goals, crushing Sri Lanka 14-0 and outplaying Uzbekistan 6-1
Bangladesh put in four-team Pool B alongwith Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, China and Uzbekistan while Pool A team comprises hosts Oman, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Indonesia.

AHF Cup Hockey: Holders Bangladesh face Singapore on Monday
Last three times champions Bangladesh will play Singapore in their 2nd Pool B match of the Men's Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Cup' 2022 at the GBK Field in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Monday.
The match will kick-off at 3:45 pm (Bangladesh time).

The tournament is also a qualifying competition for the next Men's Asia Cup Hockey.
Ahead of the Monday's match, the morale of Bangladesh team is very high after beating hosts Indonesia by 7-2 goals in one of the four opening day's match last Friday.
Bangladesh, which was placed in five-team Pool B of the meet, will play Iran on March 15 and upper ranked Oman on March 17 in the remaining group matches.
The four-team Pool A comprises Thailand, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan following the last moment withdrawal of stronger China
After playing each other once, the top two teams from each of the two pools will play in the semi-finals on March 19 before the final on March 20.
Bangladesh, champions of the last three meets in 2008, 2012 and 2016 of the Asia’s second-tier hockey, this time are also well prepared under Malaysia Coach Gobinathan Krishnamurthy to clinch their 4th consecutive title in a row, specially the withdrawal of higher ranked China.

All the nine participating teams keep their bird eyes on one of a top three-place in the ongoing AHF Cup to join the final round of the next Men's Asia Cup Hockey along with the five automatic qualifiers – India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh team made an hour-long practice session at GBK Stadium in Jakarta today (Sunday) morning and all the Bangladesh players are in sound health, according to a message received here from Indonesia on Sunday.

AHF Cup Hockey: Bangladesh to start campaign taking on Indonesia on Friday
Defending champions Bangladesh will start their campaign in the nine-team Men's Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Cup Hockey' 2022 taking on hosts Indonesia in one of the four opening day's match in Jakarta on Friday.
The match will kick off at 8:15 pm.

The Men's AHF Cup Hockey Tournament, also a qualifying meet of the next Asia Cup Men's Hockey, was reduced to nine teams following the withdrawal of stronger China in the last moment.
The trophy unveiling ceremony and press meet of the participating teams was held Thursday afternoon in the Indonesia capital Jakarta.
Earlier Bangladesh was put in five-team Pool B with Oman, Singapore, Iran and hosts Indonesia.
In the remaining Pool B matches, Bangladesh will face Singapore on March 14, Iran on March 15 and upper ranked Oman on March 17.
The Pool A team comprises Thailand, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Bangladesh team made an one and a half hour long practice session in Jakarta Thursday morning and all the Bangladesh players tested negative for Covid- 19 in the 2nd test on Thursday, said a media release on Thursday .

Hockey Federation chooses initial 28 players for AHF Cup Hockey
Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) initially selected 28 players on Sunday to form a national team for the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Cup Men's Hockey beginning in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on March 11.
The tournament will be the qualifying meet of the Asia Cup Hockey.

Selected players have been asked to report to team's Malaysian Head Coach Gobinathan Krishnamurthy on February 12 at 3: pm to join the training camp at BKSP in Savar.
Zahid Hossain Raju will act as Assistant Coach, Mohammad Yousuf as Manager and Mahbub Morshed Lebu as Assistant Manager of the team.
Selected players are: Goalkeepers- Ashim Gope, Biplob Kujur, Abu Sayed Nippon and Nuruzzaman Noyon.
Defenders- Khurshedur Rahman, Farhad Hossain Shitul, Ashraful Islam, Shohanur Rahman Sabuj, Mehdi Hasan, Rezaul Karim Babu, Shafiul Alam Shisir, Sarwar Morshed Shawon and Khaled Mahmud Rakin.
