The ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2022 will begin on March 4 in New Zealand. This month-long competition will include a total of eight teams. Bangladesh women's team will compete in their first 50-over World Cup in this year's event. The tournament will take place in six different locations in New Zealand from March 4 to April 3. 2022 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Format
The top four teams in the ICC Women's Championship, including the host nation, qualified automatically for the tournament. The remaining three teams were supposed to be determined through a World Cup qualifier in November 2021. The qualification competition got underway but was interrupted due to the threat of covid19. The ICC eventually picked the remaining three teams based on their WODI Rankings.
The competition will be played in a round-robin format with a knockout phase. All of the competing teams will meet each other once in the group stage for a spot in the semifinals. The top four teams in the points table will progress to the semifinals. The semifinal winners will compete in the championship match.

Bottom Line
According to the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2022 fixtures, each side will play at least seven matches in the tournament. The teams must secure their spots in the elimination phase by participating in those matches. The most successful team in tournament history, Australia are the strong favourite to win this year's competition. Besides, England, New Zealand, and India are tough contenders to reach the semifinals. Participating in the World Cup will be a big achievement for Bangladesh women's team, but they will be hoping to win at least a couple of games in the group stage.
