Wednesday Season 2 Part 2: Jenna Ortega Fronts Netflix's Star-Studded Mayhem
Netflix Original Series Wednesday is back, and it still knows how to pull that odd trick of being both creepy and funny at once. Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 aired on September 3, 2025, and picks up the story with more of that sly humour and the fleeting yet striking touches of dark horror. Jenna Ortega, unsurprisingly, continues to ground everything with that sharp, almost cutting presence of hers. The regular cast slides comfortably back into place, but what really keeps viewers leaning in are the new faces and the unexpected cameos. Let’s dive into a story that broadens its twisted scope while showcasing star performances at their finest.
Cast and Crew of Wednesday Season 2 Part 2
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar continue as creators and showrunners, extending their role into the executive production team. Part 2 consists of four episodes, matching the structure of Part 1 and completing the season with eight in total. Angela Robinson directed the opening two, while Tim Burton took charge of the closing pair, adding his unmistakable touch to the finale.
This part also marks a step forward for Jenna Ortega, who joins Carmen Pepelea as producer. Regulars Isaac Ordonez, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, and Luis Guzman remain central to the story. In Season 2 specials, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Joy Sunday, and Victor Dorobantu reprise their original characters.

Fresh arrivals include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah B. Taylor, Christopher Lloyd, and Thandiwe Newton. These additions stretch the world of Nevermore outward, giving the relationships more room to shift and complicate. The one who has been buzzing about most, of course, is Lady Gaga; she turns up as Rosaline Rotwood, a cryptic new teacher at the Academy.
Darker Set, Layered Plots, and Shocking Reveals
The final half of season two keeps up the same cocktail of biting humour, supernatural chaos, and yes, those dance moments that are practically designed to go viral. The scale is bigger this time – choreographed numbers, effects-heavy battles, and lots of visual dazzle. And while that’s undeniably entertaining, it sometimes comes at the cost of the smaller, more character-driven moments that made Nevermore’s world feel layered in the first place.
Amid the noise, key revelations shift the narrative toward a darker future. Aunt Ophelia Frump surfaces alive in Grandmama Hester’s basement. Wednesday regains fragments of her psychic abilities. Enid finally steps fully into her alpha werewolf role, even if it means standing apart to protect someone she cares about. The Hyde storyline wraps on a tragic note, and Thing gets an unexpected reimagining with an origin tied to Isaac Night.

Characters Over Plots: Familiar and New Faces
If anything, this second half thrives on its cameos and the steady return of old characters. The most daring swing is Gaga’s long-teased entrance as Rosaline Rotwood. She plays her as cool and unreadable, a presence that slots right into Nevermore’s atmosphere and reminds you she’s more than capable of commanding the screen outside the music stage.
Equally striking is the return of Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems. Now a spectral guide, she offers Wednesday sharp counsel as the character wrestles with lost powers. Christie’s scenes with Zeta-Jones have a quiet sharpness; their exchanges are among the most memorable of the season.
Christopher Lloyd also makes a mark as Professor Orloff, performing through little more than a floating head. There’s a short but powerful scene where he shares the frame with Agnes and Thing, and it quietly drives home the show’s running theme of belonging. It’s one of those fleeting but tender beats that stick with you. On the other end of the spectrum, Joanna Lumley’s Hester Frump bursts in with sharp timing and wit, a reminder that Wednesday never strays too far from its streak of dark playfulness.
Read more: Top 10 Korean Dramas Releasing in September 2025
The abundance of standout performances, however, leaves less room for others to grow. Billie Piper’s Isadora Capri finally receives more attention, though the shift feels uneven. Thandiwe Newton’s Dr. Rachael Fairburn, despite her potential, is quickly sidelined, a casualty of an overcrowded story.
Tim Burton's Directing Charisma Over Nevermore
The season’s closing half carries Tim Burton’s unmistakable directing prowess. The last two episodes really carry his stamp; he manages to let the grotesque and the mischievous live side by side, and somehow they don’t clash. Instead, they sit together comfortably, as if that uneasy mix is the show’s natural state. Episode 5 pushes the story toward its climax, while Episode 6 lingers on character depth. By Episodes 7 and 8, the threads tighten into larger arcs, resolved with Burton’s familiar gothic flourish.
Death, decay, and eccentricity remain his canvas, yet the show’s strength lies in how it embraces those risks. In doing so, Wednesday continues to celebrate the strange heart of the Addams family.

Setting Stage for Season 3: What Lies Ahead
Even with its crowded storyline, the season narrows to the bonds at its center, Wednesday, Enid, and their family. Those moments cut through the chaos and suggest sharper, more unsettling turns ahead as Season 3 takes shape.
The next chapter is expected to build on the sharp turns of Season 2 while leading Wednesday into even stranger, riskier territory.
Netflix has already confirmed the renewal, though no timeline has been set. Production has yet to begin, and the creators remain silent on filming details.

In a Nutshell
Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 delivers on fan expectations, with the story anchored by a compelling performance from Jenna Ortega. The horror creation of Alfred Gough and Miles Millar sharpens its edge through striking direction and eerie worldbuilding. Twists and shocking reveals keep the narrative unpredictable and engaging. But the crowded cast, even with Lady Gaga’s debut, sometimes overshadows smaller roles. Still, it didn’t push the show away from being Netflix’s most hyped horror series.

Ahmed Shabbir Romeo returns to screen as labour leader in ‘Garments Bondho’
After a long hiatus, journalist-turned-actor Ahmed Shabbir Romeo is set to return to the screen in the role of a labour leader in the telefilm 'Garments Bondho',@ scheduled to air on Channel i on Friday, August 29, at 3 pm.
Romeo, who had been undergoing treatment for a serious illness for the past year, said the project carries deep social relevance.
“This telefilm is based on contemporary realities and portrays the story of inequality between owners and workers. I have tried to embody the character of a labour leader, and I hope the audience will appreciate it,” he stated.
Director Kamrul Hasan Fuad praised Romeo’s commitment despite health struggles.
“For this telefilm, I needed someone older to play the labour leader. I was worried about whether Romeo bhai could take on the role given his illness; but despite his poor health, he performed brilliantly and brought the character to life. The audience will understand this once they watch the telefilm,” Fuad said.
The telefilm’s tagline — “When the factory gates close, it’s not just the machines that stop. Thousands of dreams come to a halt, countless families are shattered” — reflects its central theme.
Alongside Romeo, the cast includes Abdun Noor Sajal, Jannatun Noor (Mim), Tariquzzaman Tapon, Siam Nasir, Naysa Hasan Saybin, Zakir Rubel, Jihad Hasan Saybin, Salauddin, Jummon, Shamim Reza, Badsha, and Rasel Ahmed.

9-1-1: Nashville - What we know so far about Season Nine
Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear made the American procedural drama TV show 9-1-1. It first aired in January 2018 and has since become one of the most popular dramas on American television. The show is mostly about the lives of first responders in Los Angeles, like firefighters, paramedics, police officers, and 9-1-1 dispatchers, both on and off the job. Each episode mixes high-stakes emergency rescues with the characters' personal problems, relationships, and victories.
The emergencies range from the everyday, like house fires, medical crises, road accidents, etc., to the wildly unusual, such as natural disasters, freak accidents, or large-scale citywide emergencies. This balance of thrilling incidents and intimate character drama is part of what has made the show distinctive.
Angela Bassett stars as LAPD officer (later sergeant) Athena Grant, and Peter Krause starred for the first eight seasons as Fire Captain Bobby Nash. Other central characters include Oliver Stark as firefighter Evan “Buck” Buckley, Aisha Hinds as paramedic Hen Wilson, Kenneth Choi as firefighter Chimney Han, Jennifer Love Hewitt as dispatcher Maddie Buckley, and Ryan Guzman as firefighter Eddie Diaz.

9-1-1 9th Season: Renewal & Broadcast Schedule
9-1-1 has been confirmed for a ninth series, following its strong performance on ABC since moving from Fox. The network renewed the show in April 2025, only weeks before the end of Series Eight. Viewers were originally told to expect the new run in mid-October, but ABC subsequently advanced the start date. Instead of debuting on 16 October, the ninth series will now arrive a week earlier, on Thursday 9 October 2025 at 8pm Eastern Time in the United States. For UK audiences, the show traditionally airs shortly afterwards on Disney+ and Sky Witness, though exact dates have yet to be formally announced.
Episode Count & Timeslot
Series Nine will comprise 18 episodes, consistent with most previous series. The Thursday evening slot has become something of a home for the programme, offering ABC a reliable anchor at the start of its primetime line-up. The scheduling is also designed to feed directly into 9-1-1: Nashville, the newly commissioned spin-off, and later into Grey’s Anatomy, creating a first responder and medical-drama block for the autumn season.

Cast of Season 9: Familiar Faces & Promotions
Almost all of the principal cast return. Angela Bassett resumes her central role as Athena Grant, continuing as both lead performer and executive producer. Oliver Stark is back as Evan “Buck” Buckley, Jennifer Love Hewitt continues as Maddie Buckley, Aisha Hinds reprises her role as Hen Wilson, Kenneth Choi remains as Chimney Han, Ryan Guzman returns as Eddie Diaz, and Gavin McHugh carries on as Eddie’s son Christopher.
There are, however, some notable changes. Peter Krause, who has portrayed Captain Bobby Nash since the first episode, departed at the end of Series Eight. His character’s death was not left ambiguous; the creative team made it clear that Bobby’s story had reached a natural conclusion. This means Series Nine will be the first without him as a regular presence.
To balance that loss, Corinne Massiah and Elijah M. Cooper, who play Athena’s children May and Harry, have both been promoted from recurring players to full series regulars. Their increased presence reflects the producers’ intention to expand Athena’s family dynamic and to explore how they cope with loss and transition alongside their mother.

9-1-1: Nashville Story Direction—Dealing with Loss and Moving On
The new show is set to start after Bobby's death, with the 118 firehouse dealing with grief and uncertainty. Showrunner Tim Minear says that though Bobby's death won't be the main focus of the plotline, it will have an effect on the whole series as characters deal with both personal grief and professional duties.
Angela Bassett has promised that the storylines will honour Bobby without overwhelming the broader narrative. Athena’s arc will naturally involve family as well as work, especially with her children taking on larger roles. For the team at the 118, the question of leadership is a pressing one: who will step into Bobby’s shoes as captain? Fans have speculated about whether Chimney, Hen, or perhaps a new character will assume command. The producers have not revealed the answer, preferring to let viewers discover how the team reshapes itself across the course of the series.
Oliver Stark has suggested in interviews that the theme of the season is rebuilding, not just structurally within the firehouse, but emotionally. The characters have to learn to depend on each other in new ways after years of Bobby being around all the time. This story of renewal and resilience fits right in with the show's long history of balancing big disasters with small, personal stories.

Production & Behind-the-Scenes of 9-1-1's Season 9
Filming of the 9th series started this summer. Cast members, including Stark, have shared light-hearted behind-the-scenes photographs, signalling a return to the set and a buoyant atmosphere despite the narrative heaviness awaiting on screen. As with previous series, production is centred in Los Angeles, with a mixture of location shooting and stage work designed to deliver the dramatic emergencies that have become the show’s hallmark.
The Wider Universe: A Growing Franchise
The arrival of 9-1-1: Nashville is perhaps the biggest external development for the franchise. Due to air immediately after the parent series, it introduces a new cast led by Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley. Whereas the original show focuses on Los Angeles, the spin-off relocates the action to Tennessee, offering fresh cultural and geographical settings for high-stakes rescues.
ABC is investing a lot of money into building a long-lasting brand around the 9-1-1 name by putting both shows on Thursday nights. For viewers, it means spending more time each week with first responder stories, mixing the well-known characters of the 118 with a new team dealing with similar problems.

Audience Expectations in 9-1-1: Nashville
The challenge for Series Nine is to retain its emotional depth and spectacle without Peter Krause’s anchoring performance. Bobby Nash was not only a captain but also a moral centre, guiding the younger members of the firehouse.
His absence is both a risk and an opportunity. Its downside is that the long-time viewers might feel uneasy, and it has scope because the drama can find fresh turns putting its characters in versatile situations.
Angela Bassett is still a big deal, both on screen and behind the scenes. Audiences have praised her work as Athena, and as a producer, she makes sure that the show stays true to its mix of exciting rescues and complex personal stories.
May and Harry have got more involved in the drama. Besides this, there is room to look at how high-stress jobs affect family life and how different generations see things.

Conclusion
On the whole, 9-1-1 Series Nine will start on October 9, 2025. This time the series will come with 18 episodes. It will air on Thursday nights as usual. This season will be full of changes, like Captain Bobby Nash's death, Athena's children becoming regular members, and the lack of clarity about who will lead the 118. Nevertheless, 9-1-1: Nashville will be a season full of strength, family ties, and the never-ending drama of Los Angeles emergencies. With production in full swing and ABC supporting the franchise with a spin-off, it looks like the show will not only last but also change to fit a new time.

BTV announces return of iconic children’s talent hunt ‘Notun Kuri’
Bangladesh Television (BTV) is bringing back its legendary children’s talent hunt show ‘Notun Kuri’, the state-run broadcaster announced on its official social media handles last night (Tuesday), sparking a wave of nostalgia and celebration among viewers.
Once a cultural phenomenon in the country’s mono-channel era, Notun Kuri aired on BTV from 1976 until its final broadcast in 2006, discovering generations of young talents in singing, dancing, acting, recitation and other performing arts.
The show was originally created by eminent artist Mustafa Monwar and became a launching pad for numerous prominent figures in the arts and entertainment industry.
Following Tuesday’s announcement, many of the show's fans, former contestants, and cultural enthusiasts took to social media to share their excitement and fond memories of watching or participating in the programme.
BTV has not yet disclosed details about the audition process, broadcast schedule or format changes for the revived season.

First aired in 1966 on Pakistan Television and relaunched on BTV after Bangladesh’s independence, ‘Notun Kuri’ became an enduring part of the country’s cultural heritage, known for nurturing young performers from across the nation.
Over the decades, ‘Notun Kuri’ introduced audiences to a host of talented youngsters who went on to become household names. These include actors Tarana Halim, Rumana Rashid Ishita, Tarin Jahan, Meher Afroz Shaon, Nusrat Imroz Tisha, Zakia Bari Mamo, Tamalika Karmakar, Sabrin Saka Meem and Azad Rahman Shakil; singers such as Samina Chowdhury, Haimanti Rakshit Das and Mehbooba Mahnoor Chandni; and other cultural figures who went on to make their mark in film, television, theatre and music. For many, the show was not just a competition, but the first step towards lifelong artistic careers.
‘Notun Kuri’ ceased airing in 2006 due to changing media landscapes, financial constraints at BTV, and the emergence of private television channels offering diverse entertainment options. Over time, sustaining the nationwide auditions, live broadcasts, and judging processes became challenging amid shifting programming priorities and limited institutional support.
It was previously reported that the show would make its long-awaited return in 2020; however, it did not happen due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite its long hiatus, ‘Notun Kuri’ remains a beloved symbol of Bangladesh’s cultural heritage, and enthusiastic audiences are rejoicing over the announcement of its much-anticipated return.
