A well-known senior journalist based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Mohd Jahangir Alam writes news reports on various issues, specially crimes, human rights, civic problems, defence (Armed forces) and environment. He got various trainings both in home and abroad, including training on Basic Journalism and Ethics organised by Commonwealth Press Union (CPU), London. Jahangir started carrier with English news magazine” Weekly Evidence” as Staff Reporter in 1998 and then joined English daily the New Nation in 2002. In August 2004, he joined as a Staff Correspondent in leading news agency United News of Bangladesh (UNB) and now he works as Special Correspondent. He visited several countries including Thailand, United Kingdom, Germany, USA, Central Africa Republic (CAR), Canada, Nepal and India for professional reasons.
