The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab) on Sunday signed an agreement with a Chinese company for constructing a new terminal building at Osmani International Airport in Sylhet.
Caab Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman and Harold Huang, country chief of Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG), signed the deal on behalf of their respective sides.
The Tk-2,116 crore project include construction of a terminal building, a cargo building, an ATC tower, taxiway, apron and a modern fire station.
The airport will able to handle 20 lakh passengers annually once the project is implemented in the next two years and nine months.
Other higher officials of Cabb and BUCG were present on the occasion.
