US-Bangla to resume Dhaka-Kolkata flights from October 21
US-Bangla Airlines will resume its Dhaka- Kolkata flights from October 21 under the air bubble agreement inked between Bangladesh and India.
The flights will leave Dhaka at 9:45 am every Thursday, Saturday and land in Kolkata at 10:45 am (local time). On the same days, the flights will leave Kolkata at 11and land in Dhaka at 12:30 PM.

The passengers’ will have to secure negative report of Covid-19 RT-PCR test within 72 hours before taking flight. They will also need to get molecular test done on their own expenses after landing in Kolkata.
All the passengers are now allowed to travel to India under the air bubble deal following the current visa related directives.
With all the taxes and surcharges applied US-Bangla’s Dhaka-Kolkata one way flight ticket price is Tk 7,226 and the price of return ticket is Tk 12,733.
On September 2, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) accepted the Indian civil aviation ministry's proposal to resume Bangladesh-India air bubble flights on September 4.

Later, India and Bangladesh mutually decided to increase the frequency of flights under the Air Bubble arrangement from 7 to 21 per week per country.

Full-scale Covid testing at Dhaka airport starts Tuesday
The much-awaited RT-PCR labs to conduct Covid-19 tests for the departing passengers will go into full-scale operation at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday.
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman announced this after launching the RT-PCR labs on experimental basis at the airport on Saturday.

State Minster for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali, Secretary Mokammel Hossain and Chairman of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation Hannan Mia were, among others, present.
The United Arab Emirates has imposed a condition that the passengers travelling to the UAE will have to conduct Covid-19 test at the airport 48 hours or 6-hours before departing the country, said the CAAB Chairman.
“We have taken an initiative to launch the RT-PCR lab inside the airport with coordination of the Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Health and Foreign Ministries and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) conducted a test operation today,” he said.
“If the test-run goes successfully, then we will inform the airlines authorities and for this we need 48 hours and we hope those will start full-scale operation from September 28,” he added.
There will be 12 machines installed at the 6 labs at the airport. At least 3-4.5 thousand people will be able to test at these labs every day.

Bangladesh imposes restrictions on passenger flights from 11 countries
Bangladesh's civil aviation regulator has imposed restrictions on international passenger flights from 11 countries as the highly contagious Delta variant continues to devastate several countries across the world.
Malaysia, Iran, Spain, Argentina, Botswana, Cuba, Cyprus, Eswatini, Georgia, Libya and Mongolia are the 11 countries under Group- A, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has said.
However, Bangladeshi citizens from these countries who have completed a full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine before 14 days of the travel date can enter Bangladesh.

Upon arrival, they will have to undergo a mandatory 14-days home quarantine.
However, if any Covid-19 symptoms are detected on arrival, they will be sent to government-authorised hospitals for further checkup and depending on the intensity of the symptoms, will be sent for isolation at government-nominated facilities at the passenger's own expense.
Besides, passengers from these 11 countries who are not vaccinated or have not completed full doses of the vaccine, will not be allowed to enter Bangladesh.

However, Bangladeshi expatriates residing in these 11 countries and Bangladeshi nationals who visited there during the last 15 days, are allowed to come to Bangladesh provided that they have the special approval or authorisation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.
According to the CAAB circular, Bangladeshi seafarers or marine engineers who have signed off from ship from this group of 11 within the previous 15 days of travel to Bangladesh, can return provided they possess proper evidence about their profession and signing-off.
Upon arrival in the country, in both the cases above, they will have to complete a mandatory 14-day institutional quarantine at government-nominated hotels at their own expense.

All incoming and outgoing passengers, except children below 10 years, must possess an RT-PCR negative certificate. The PCR test should be done within 72 hours of the flight departure time.
International passenger flights will continue as per their approved time slots under the summer-2021 schedule.
However, air bubble flights will remain suspended until further notice.
