Moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in five divisions of the country Thursday, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
Due to the peripheral effect of the cyclonic storm Asani, moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions.
The severe cyclonic storm Asani over West Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining area moved northwestwards, weakened into a cyclonic storm, and now lies over the Andhra coast and adjoining West Central Bay.
It is likely to move in a north or northeasterly direction and weaken gradually into a deep depression during the next 12 hours, the BMD said in the evening.
The day and night temperatures may remain unchanged over the country, it added.
