Bangladesh’s general point-to-point inflation rate rose slightly to 8.49 percent in December 2025 from 8.29 percent in November, according to the latest figures from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
The modest increase was driven by rises in both food and non-food prices.
Food inflation inched up to 7.71 percent in December from 7.36 percent in November while non-food inflation rose to 9.13 percent from 9.08 percent over the same period.

Inflation in both rural and urban areas also recorded slight increases last month reflecting a gradual upward trend across the country.
