The throat-slit body of a female madrasa teacher has been recovered near her house in Ghior upazila of Manikganj district.
The deceased was Sumaiya Akhter, 40, wife of Mostaq Ahmed from Thakurkandi village in Ghior Sadar Union and a teacher of Thakurkandi Paschimpara Zobeda Khatun Darul Uloom Women's Madrasa.
Mostaq Ahmed said after returning home from a shop on Tuesday night, he found Sumaiya’s throat-slit body in front of a bathroom of the house.

She was taken to the Ghior Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared her dead.
Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ghior Police Station, said miscreants might have killed Sumaiya as there some injury marks on her neck.
The OC also said that the deceased's husband Mostaq Ahmed, neighbour Ali Hasan Khandaker's son, Bappi Khandaker, 18, were brought to the police station for questioning.

The body was sent to Manikganj district hospital for an autopsy on Wednesday morning and investigation is underway, added the OC.
