Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ashek Imam passed the order when he was produced before the court by police on charge of threatening to murder Exim Bank’s two top executives, including its Managing Director.

In the court, Police petitioned for his detention until investigation is completed in the attempted murder case filed with Gulshan Police.
The defense lawyer submitted a petition seeking bail of Ron Sikder on humanitarian ground as his father died recently.
Upon hearing both sides, the court granted the bail until the next schedule date.
Earlier, Ron Haque Sikder was arrested from Hazrat Shahjala International Airport at 10:15am just after he was landed there, said Deputy Commissioner (DB) of the Gulshan Division Moshiur Rahman.
He was arrested in connection with a case filed with Gulshan Police Station by Exim Bank as he has been a fugitive in the case.
In the case, two directors of Sikder Group –-Ron Haque Sikder and his brother Dipu Haque Sikder-- were accused of abduction and attempted murder of the two top executives of the bank.

According to case statement, the incident took place on May 7 over a loan proposal of Tk 500 crore. Ron allegedly fired a shot at the Exim Bank MD that narrowly missed at 300 feet road area while the bank officials were returning after visiting two sites of Sikder Group directors' mortgaged property against the loan.
Later, the bank officials were forcibly taken to Sikder House at Banani at gunpoint where Ron and his brother allegedly forced the victims to sign a paper agreeing everything is alright in the project and took the additional managing director's sign as a witness.
Ron Haque Sikder came to Dhaka as his father Zainul Haque Sikder, also the chairman of Sikder Group of Companies died on Wednesday.
