Lohit alias Puneeth Rajkumar, the youngest child of Dr. Rajkumar and Parvathamma, was born on March 17, 1975. At the age of only six months, director V.Samashekar brought him to the big screen through his movie 'Premada Kanike'. At the age of one, he was seen in the movie 'Sanadi Appanna'. When he was seven, Puneeth won the Karnataka State Film Award for best child actor for his role in the superhit movie ‘Hosa Bilaku’. In 1985, he won the National Film Award for best child actor for his playing Innocent Ramu in ‘Bettada Hubhu’.

In 2002, Lohit appeared in front of the audience as a hero in the movie 'Appu'. For his outstanding success in this movie, he was known as Appu to all of his fans. Second is 33-year-old Parshurama Devannavar, a day laborer from Sindholi village in Belagavir. And the last one is Prasad, a 50-year-old man from Doddebagilu village in Malavalli taluk of Mandia. There have also been cases of suicide attempts among young fans.
