Addressing a discussion programme over the 45th anniversary of the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the minister came up with the advice at Jatiya Press Club.
Ziaur Rahman griped power by continuing the politics of killing after Bangabandhu’s murder while Khaleda Zia also followed, he said.
“In 2002, BNP killed 100 people by operating clean heart and escaped justice by giving indemnity over the matter.”, Mahmud said.
Their (BNP) politics is based on killings, disappearances and militancy, he said adding that “Anti-militant comments do not suit in their mouth.”
“I would request them (BNP) to offer an apology to the people who can possibly forgive them.”, he said.
