Two children drowned in the Kaptai Lake at Bijoynagar area in the district town on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Antar Chakma, son of Mohon Chakma, and Arjyo Chakma, son of Milon Kanti Chakma of the area.
Local people said the two children went missing while playing near the lake at noon.
Later, they were recovered from the lake after a frantic search and taken to Sadar Hosptial where the doctors declared them dead, said Dr Abul Bashar, duty doctor of Rangamati Sadar Hospital.
