Detectives arrested three alleged members of a gang of thieves along with 1500 litres of diesel from Feni Sadar upazila in connection with stealing oil from a standing train on Feni Sharshdi station.
The arrestees are Md Abdullah, 55, son of late Abdur Rahman of Dakshin Khan house in Sharshdi, Md Abu Taher,34, son of Farid Uddin of North Sharshdi and Abdur Rahim, 22, son of Dulal Hossain of Baduria village of Kutirhat in Sonagazi upazila.
Tipped off, a team of District DB police conducted a drive at Fatehpur area in Sharshdi Union of Feni Sadar Upazila in the early hours of Saturday and arrested them, said Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Superintendent of Feni Police in a press briefing.
During the drive, the law enforcers recovered 1500 liters of stolen diesel and seized a pickup.
They are trying to arrest others accused, added the officer.
A case was filed in this regard.
