A Khulna court on Sunday issued a warrant for the arrest of former officer-in-charge Hasan Al Mamun of Khulna Sadar Police Station on contempt of court charge.
Khulna Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Anisur Rahman passed the order as he failed to appear before the court.
Hasan Al Mamun, is now serving as the officer-in-charge of Madarganj Police Station in Jamalpur.
Murder case accused shot dead in Khulna
Advocate Touhidur Rahman Tushar, a counsel of the plaintiff, said Fakhrul Alam, former organizing secretary of Khulna unit BNP was injured as he was brutally assaulted by the former OC of Sadar Police Station during BNP’s programme on january 5, 2022.
An eye of the BNP leader got damaged due to the attack.
On August 19, 2024, the BNP leader filed a case against Hasan and the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) is investigating the attack.
The court summoned the former OC for thrice but he failed to appear before the court.
As he failed to comply with the court order, the court issued an arrest warrant against him.
