Newborn’s floating body found in Chandpur river


Chandpur, Sept 17 (UNB) - Police recovered the body of a newborn from the Dakatia River in Hajiganj upazila on Monday night.

Alamgir Hossain Roni, officer-in-charge of Hajiganj Police Station, said locals spotted the body floating beneath the Bolakhal-Natehar Bridge around 7pm and informed them.

Later, they recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy, he said, suspecting that the body might have been floating in the river for two days.
