Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Friday forecast light to moderate rain, thunder showers for many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, in the next 24 hours since 6pm.
The same was forecast for a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country, said a weather bulletin.
The bulletin said the axis of monsoon trough was running through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs was extending up to Northeast Bay.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay, it added.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
