The Bangladesh Cricket Board selected a 15-man team for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 on Thursday (September 9). The selectors also included two stand-by players for this mega event. Bangladesh's captain in the World Cup will be all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad. The seventh edition of the Twenty20 World Cup will kick off on October 17 and finish on November 14 with the final match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh’s Squad for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021

The BCB named the squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 after Bangladesh won the T20I series against New Zealand on Wednesday (September 8). Is there anyone on the team who came as a surprise? There are no players in the squad who are not playing in the New Zealand series.

The veteran opener Tamim Iqbal has pulled himself out of the World Cup due to a lack of preparation. His choice made the task of the selectors much easier. If not, one of the top-order players would have been dropped to make room for the left-hander.

Aside from these 15, the selectors have also picked pacer Rubel Hossain and leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob as stand-by players. They will join the team at the main event.
