A low pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay in the next 72 hours, the weather department said on Tuesday.
A low-pressure area is a region where the atmospheric pressure at sea level is lower than that of surrounding locations.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said.

Showers are also likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country, it said.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The maximum rainfall in the country was recorded in Sylhet at 133 mm in the 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday.
