Three-time BPL Football champion Sheikh Jamal faced off against six-time champion Abahani at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
This was the first draw for Sheikh Jamal in this edition of the 13-team BPL Football but it was Dhaka Abahani’s third draw in matches. With their current points, they now stand at second and third spots in the league table respectively.
Basdundhara Kings is dominating the league with full 21 points from seven matches.

Haitian striker Kervens Belfort opened the Abahani account in the 13th minute (1-0) while Gambian forward Suleiman Sillah levelled the margin for Sheikh Jamal in the 19th minute (1-1).
Brazilian booter Francisco Torres put Abahani ahead in the 46th minute (2-1) while Gambian forward cum league’s leading scorer Omar Jobe again restored the parity for Sheikh Jamal in the 72nd minute (2-2) .
Omar Jobe clearly dominated the scorer list with eight individual goals featuring the league’s first hat-trick.
Gambian Solomon Kings of Sheikh Jamal and Jewel Rana of Abahani Limited got red cards in the 40th minute of the match.

In the day’s another match, Sheikh Russel KC earned their fifth victory in seven matches outplaying all-losers Arambagh KS by 4-0 goals at the floodlit Bangabandhu National Stadium here in the evening.
Nigerian winger Ugochukwu Obi Moneke scored the second hat-trick of the league scoring three goals in the 36th, 39th and 46th minutes respectively while medio Mohammad Abdullah netted the other goal for Sheikh Russel KC in the 73rd minute.
Sheikh Russel KC now share the 2nd slot in the league table with Sheikh Jamal DC with 16 points while Arambagh KC are yet to open the account playing six matches and remained at the bottom of the league.

In the day’s other league match, Dhaka Mohammedan SC tasted their second victory in their seventh matches beating newcomers Bangladesh Police FC by a solitary goal in their home venue of Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Tuesday.
Japanese midfielder Uryu Nagata scored the match-winner for the traditional black and whites Mohammedan in the 47th minute of the match (1-0).
With the day’s feat, Mohammedan SC advanced to the 6th place in the league collecting nine points in seven matches while Police FC remained at 9th slot bagging seven points from six encounters.
