Though Reno5’s rear-panel is made of polycarbonate, it looks like glass. In this price range, customers usually expect a glass-built back panel. However, the gorgeous slick design (159.1 x 73.3 x 7.8 mm) of Reno5 won’t let you complain about its build quality. Thankfully, its glossy back-panel won’t catch many fingerprints. Reno5 sports a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel. Its amazing 91.7 percent screen-to-body ratio offers a premium feel. Here you get a Full HD+ display at 2400 by 1080p resolution. Reno5 offers two options for refresh rate: 60Hz and 90Hz. For the first time, Oppo is combining a high refresh rate with an AMOLED display. It is certainly good news for the Oppo fans!

Oppo always tries to present some exclusive features in the camera segment of its Reno series Phones. Reno5 is not an exception. Oppo Reno5 has quad-camera housing on the back that includes a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP mono sensor.

Built with the Sony IMX 686 sensor, its 64MP main camera features an f/1.7 aperture, 26mmwidth, and 79.5° Field-of-View (FOV). This camera offers a closed-loop focus motor. In proper daylight, you can capture some mind-blowing photos exhibiting proper details, sharpness, and dynamic range. The color punches are marvelous and close-to-natural. Though the image processing system may boost the colors sometimes, the pictures look attractive.

In presence of sufficient sunlight,  the front camera can capture astonishing photos with good dynamic range and details. You can take splendid selfies enabling the provided ‘ AI beautification’ mode. Besides enhancing the glow, it will soften the skin tone
to process pretty selfies. However, by turning off the ‘beauty’ mode you can get the natural color tone with proper sharpness.

Furthermore, with the front camera, Oppo offers a bunch of image processing features such as AI mixed portrait, portrait, night mode, photo, dual-view video, slo-mo, sticker, time-lapse, pano, and video. With the 64MP prime rear camera, you can shoot about 4K videos at 30fps. It also offers options for filming 1080P footage at 60fps or 30fps and 720P videos at 60fps or 30fps. Furthermore, this sensor can capture 1080P slo-mo videos at 480fps or 120fps, 720P slo-mo at 960fps or 240fps. Reno5’s versatile camera is capable of video zooming. The options are 720P footage at 60fps or 30fps, 1080P at 60fps or 30fps, and 4K 30fps.

The overall quality of the videos is average. Thanks to Oppo for adding some innovative video features to this phone. In the  rear camera, you get ‘Bokeh’ Mode that blurs the background focusing the subject. The ‘AI Color’ mode allows you to make the background black-and-white, solely preserving the color of the main subject. It also has color filtering options along with ‘Monochrome’. What is more? The outstanding ‘Dual Video’ mode can capture footage with both the front camera and the rear camera at a time. It is certainly a blessing for the Vloggers.

Performance

Oppo Reno5 is built with an Octa-core processor with the utmost 2.3 GHz clock speed. It is disappointing that Reno5 inherits the same processor configuration as the predecessor Reno4. Here Oppo provides Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G (8 nm) chipset combined with the Adreno 618 (750 MHz) GPU.
