Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday forecast light to moderate rain, thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind for many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet Divisions, for the 24 hours till Monday evening.
The same was forecast for a few places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over northern part of the country, said a BMD bulletin.
About synoptic situation, the bulletin said a low was formed over West Central Bay off Andhra coast of India. It was likely to intensify. The axis of monsoon trough was running through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs was extending up to North Bay.
Monsoon was fairly active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
