A nor'wester coupled with rain and gusty wind swept different parts of Dhaka city.
"The nor'wester was blowing with a wind speed of 20 to 30 kilometres per hour," said a meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The wind picked up, and then came heavy rain. The unexpected rain in spring caused trouble for a lot of people.
Many were seen turning their car headlights on to avoid getting hurt in an accident. A lot of people were also seen taking shelter under the flyovers.
Cracks in the drainage pipe of the Moghbazar-Mouchak flyover caused many pedestrians to get drenched in rain.
However, no casualty was reported due to the seasonal storm.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the region of Cumilla in the next 24 hours commencing, according to the Met office.
