A deep depression over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining area has intensified into the cyclonic storm "Burevi."
The cyclone has moved west-northwestward, the India Meteorological Department said on Wednesday.
The ridge of sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and adjoining area, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said.
The name Burevi is suggested by the Maldives, following the cyclone naming guidelines of the World Meteorological Organization.
However, the weather may remain dry in Bangladesh for the next 24 hours from 6pm Wednesday.
Light to moderate fog may occur across the country from late night to early morning.
Night and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged.
