The rumor goes that this Xiaomi phone is also coming in the name of Mi 10i. The feature of a 108MP camera under Tk30,000 has created great thrill among smartphone enthusiasts. Let us check out the detailed review of Redmi Note 9 Pro and its price in Bangladesh to decide whether you should buy it.
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G or Mi 10i: Key features
Design
Although this 215g Xiaomi phone might feel a bit heavy, it is blessed with homogenous weight-balance distribution facilitated by exclusive “Aura Balance” technology. The stylish appearance, polished surface, and smooth edges (165.4 x 76.8 x 9 mm) of Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G delivers a premium feel. However, the noticeable bezels with an 84.6% screen-to-body ratio drag this phone down to the level of budget phones. But still, 9 Pro 5G has many exciting things to offer.
Even the haters will praise the amazing build quality of this latest Redmi 9 Series smartphone’s sporting Aluminum frame construction with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 built front and back panels. The IP53 water-repellent coating protects this phone from dust and water drops. Following the contemporary trend, Xiaomi uses quad-camera series on its back-panel. The camera bump is very low that prevents wobbling. And the front screen is provided with a hole-punch selfie camera.
The edges are enriched with necessary ports and buttons. This phone has dual stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The right edge carries a volume rocker, and fingerprint sensor imposed power button. The SIM card slot tray is injected into its left edge. You can either use two Nano SIMs at a time or one SIM with a memory card.

Display
If you are a fan of wide-screen phones, 9 Pro 5G’s 6.67-inch screen will please you. In this phone, Xiaomi offers an IPS LCD display with decent color punches, contrasts, and sharpness. It promises satisfactory visual experiences with its HDR10 panel along with Full HD resolution featuring 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio, and ~ 395 PPI densities.
With a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch-sampling rate, 9 Pro 5G offers a butter-smooth navigation experience. The phone’s standard 450nit (typ) brightness capacity will make the outdoor user experiences in direct sunlight light more convenient. Furthermore, the TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification makes this phone more user-friendly. Overall, the display quality is good, but the users would expect an AMOLED panel in this price range.

Camera series
The 108MP main rear camera is the key attraction of Mi 10i or Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. This camera features an f/1.8 aperture, 26mm wide, 1/1.52” lens size, and 0.7µm pixel size; its sensor is built by Samsung’s latest ISOCELL S5KHM2 sensor. In ample daylight, the camera’s powerful sensor would keep you captivated with enough details, sharpness, and white balance. However, low-light pictures may lose some details.
The rear camera housing also bears an 8MP ultra-wide camera featuring f/2.2 aperture, 118˚ field of view, 1/4.0” sensor size, and 1.12µm pixel size. This sensor captures decent photos in presence of proper daylight. However, compared with the main camera, the images seem oversaturated lacking enough sharpness and details.
Here you also get a macro and a depth camera. Both cameras feature a 2MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The depth sensor captures mind-blowing portrait shots with proper edge detection. However, it smoothes the subjects’ skin tones a bit to make the images look prettier.

On the front panel 9 pro 5G sports a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.5 aperture, 1/3.06” sensor size, and 1.0µm pixel size. Selfie lovers can capture social-media ready photos with this camera. Its image processing algorithm smoothes the skin tones losing some details. However, Xiaomi seems to be less generous if the configuration of the front camera is compared with the rear main camera.
Video capability
The rear main camera offers many video options. The passionate vloggers can use the 4K video shooting capacity at 30 fps. It is also capable of shooting 1080p clips at 30 or 60fps supported by gyro-EIS.
The selfie lovers can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps with the front camera. Preventing the unintentional camera shakes, the gyro-EIS features would support the users in taking eye-soothing stabilized videos.

Processor performance
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G stands out from the competitors because of Qualcomm Snapdragon’s latest chipset 750G 5G, which is built on 8 nm architecture. We have seen this powerful Qualcomm chipset in flagship-level phones like Xiaomi Mi10i, Samsung Galaxy A42, and Oppo Reno5 Lite. Its Octa-core processor has two sections. Two Kryo 570 gold cores operate at 2.2 GHz clock speed, while six Kryo 570 silver cores function at 1.8GHz clock speed.
The graphical processing unit of 9 Pro 5G bears Adreno 619 GPU that can skillfully run lively animations, videos, and high-definition games. For moderate level gaming, 9 Pro 5G works fine. You can play “PUBG” choosing either “Smooth” graphics at “Ultra” FPS or “HD” graphics at “Max” FPS. The “Call of Duty” game can be playable at “very high graphics” or “high graphics” at “Max” 60FPS. The heating issue is average.

Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G runs on MIUI 12 OS based Android 10. You will enjoy the mind-blowing features of the latest version of MIUI OS. However, the bugs of MIUI12 can delay the opening in heavy apps during multi-tasking. Future software updates may reduce these issues. But for regular day to day usage, 9 Pro 5G will not let you complain.
Speed, connectivity
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is compatible with 5G networking technology. However, this technology is currently not available in Bangladesh. This phone facilitates a speedier web connection that will let you download apps in moments, or stream content with greater satisfaction, and stay connected with your friends through social media networks.
Battery, charging
When many contemporary phones are offering big batteries at low price ranges, 9 Pro 5G’s Li-Po 4820mAh non-removable battery may dishearten you. But do not worry! On moderate use, this battery sustains about a day with around 8 hours of SOT.
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G comes with a 33W fast charging adapter. Thanks to Xiaomi for not removing the charger from its box. The manufacturer claims that this phone is 100% chargeable in 58 minutes only.

Verdict
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G or Mi 10i has something for everyone. Its elegant design is hard to ignore. Those who enjoy watching movies and web-series on a mobile screen would love its big screen gifted with impressive features like an FHD display and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The 108MP primary rear camera makes this phone stand out even among pricier competitors. Xiaomi did not make any compromise in the processor section by offering a 750G SD chipset.
However, the provision of an AMOLED display powered by a bigger battery could make Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G a better deal. And this phone seems a bit over-priced. Still, it is a good deal for amateur photographers and video bloggers.
